Carolyn Fulgenzi was born on 28 July 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, daughter of Janet (McLaughlin) and Andrew Fulgenzi. She graduated from Dominican High School in Detroit and completed her undergraduate education at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She continued her studies attending Syracuse University receiving her Master’s in English Education. After retiring as a teacher with the Fayetteville-Manlius School District, she joined the faculty at Syracuse University as an adjunct professor in the writing department. Concurrently, she was also teaching at Onondaga Community College.
Carolyn blamed her tenth grade English teacher for nudging her into the writer's life. Sister Rose Terrence insisted that she enter a short story contest sponsored by the Detroit News, and Cara won! Of course, she was thrilled with the award -- a dictionary that still sits on her desk -- but at that time, her goal in life was to become an actress, and eventually, she attained that goal. She married Mr Hanlon, and had three sons: Kevin D., Brian A, and Brendan J. Hanlon. Only after her three sons were born that she turned her full attention to writing again. She sold her first Temptation to Harlequin in 1994, and that book, C.J.'s Defense as Carolyn Andrews, also sits on her desk -- right next to the dictionary. Since 2000, she wrote under the pseudonym of Cara Summers. She believed that her background in theater had influenced her writing, allowing her to create new characters and bring them to life for the reader. She passed away on 10 September 2013.
I enjoy the Uniformly Hot series to varying degrees and this time we have Airforce pilot and now instructor Nash Fortune reuniting with his teenage love Bianca, now a published writer.
They were all set to elope when Nash's grandmother intervened and gave Bianca an opportunity to follow her dreams and better her life. Nash was angry but not bitter and now Bianca has come back to do a story on his family and the disappearance of someone they knew.
I enjoyed the book though at the start I didn't understand why none of them were bitter. Nash was okay with Bianca taking money and running out on him, since he was explained it was for her to make a better life. Once she's back he knows she's the one, but she is a planner and needs convincing while he is impulsive.
A decent book and I am going to check out Gabe's story.
Bianca Quinn and Nash Fortune are in love with each other and have been since they were teenagers. They have been separated for 11 years because Nash's grandmother bribed Bianca with a full ride scholarship to an Ivy League college.
Bianca is back home now. She is a successful writer of true crime novels. Nash's grandmother has hired Bianca to investigate the Fortune family while Bianca is researching the disappearance of a young Air Force Academy cadet.
Nash agrees to help Bianca with the research for both book projects. Nash was a cadet at the academy when Cadet Brian Silko went missing and he his now a flight instructor for the academy so he can open doors that have been slammed in Bianca's face. He also wants to start their relationship over. Boy does he start over. I loved his courtship tactics.
Nash and Bianca were childhood sweethearts. They almost eloped to Vegas before Bianca was paid off to leave by Nash's grandmother. Nash wanted to be a a Air Force Captain and be awarded medals. Bianca wanted to be a writer. 10 years later, they have their career's. Nash is now on assignment teaching at the Air Force Academy, after medaled for his flights in war. Bianca has a best seller true crime novel under her belt, that blew open a man that was in prison for something he didn't do, and put the man truly responsible behind bars. Can they pick up where they left off? I gave this a 5 star...
A nice, straightforward mystery without too many complications. A girl is escaping from something. She is running to her uncle’s hidden estate when she hears a plane go down near her. She helps save the two men on board,.. one of which is an FBI agent. Good escape
