About the author

Tim Quinn's career spans teaching and leadership at all levels of public education, from K-12 through community college and university. He served as an English teacher, assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent in Michigan prior to becoming superintendent of the Green Bay, Wisconsin, public schools. He also served as president of a community college in Michigan. Tim was the founder of the Michigan Leadership Institute, which is dedicated to leadership development, placement and support of school leaders. He was engaged by The Broad Foundation to partner on the creation and leadership of The Broad Center and the Broad Superintendents Academy. Tim earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and received honorary doctorates for his statewide leadership from Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Grand Valley State Universities. He is now retired.

A short book packed with wisdom and principles on being an effective leader. There is a workbook included with activities that have been invaluable to my growth process. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for those who lead, aspire to lead, and/or want to better articulate why they follow or avoid certain leaders.
