Details chronologically all records with which the Beatles were associated, collectively or individually, as performers, composers, or producers and lists all their albums and single records
A must for serious Beatles fans, this book chronicles each and every appearance of one or more Beatles on any record released, including guest appearances on other artists' records. The book also contains info on video appearances, bootlegs, past history and other oddities. Non-fans probably will not enjoy it due to its obsessiveness.
The first comprehensive Beatles discography was a pretty big undertaking in the mid-1970s without the internet and the ability to easily track down resources. A ton of original research done here that was very important to all subsequent researchers.
A friend reminded me how essential this book was for both of us as Beatles fans back when it came out in the 1980's. It meticulously lists every single recording session for all four of the lads from 1961 through 1975, including who played, what was played, what was released and what remained unreleased. Long before the internet, this was an indispensable and fascinating resource.
