Think of yourself gathered around your kitchen with your favorite wine and your best friends. Each one of you chimes in to bring the others up to date to what has been happening in your lives for the last few months. This interaction with your friends makes you laugh inside and say, I should be writing all of this down so that I can remember this day in the future. Now, think about reading a book, that actually allowed you to read a story that is as intense and emotional as the interactions that you hear from your friends. When that night is over between friends, don't you think to yourself, oh my, I can't wait until we meet again to catch up? Well, this sequel, "When Love Evolves", by Lonz Cook, does just that. This is a book that you just can't put down. These characters come to life, as if they are your best friends gathered in your kitchen, and you just need to find out everything that has happened to them before they leave your home. Lonz Cook has a phenomenal way of allowing you and your circle of friends to "BE" the story.

Just like in your kitchen while listening to your best friends, your emotions go from intrigue, discussed, anticipation, drama, insecurity, manipulation, scandal, mystery, I can't believe that, and passion; all while LOVE is at the center of it all! Or should I say, each characters definition of "LOVE" as they see it, go through it, find it or lose it!

Rodney ( the main male character), is a girl's dream come true, with his intelligence, good looks, romantic desire, his own business, but most of all, his pure love. Unfortunately, this had gotten him passed over by Simone (one of the main female characters) in the first novel, "Good Guys Finish Last", just to have her heart and mind deceived by her choice instead, the "bad boy" Stefan. After Simone finds out information about Stefan and what he's been up to, Simone realizes that she made the wrong choice. This is where Simone's "true colors" seem to come out in a not so flattering way. But we all know that once a love is lost and we feel it should be ours again, we may try many different things to reclaim it; unfortunately we forget it takes two sides to make this decision.

While all of this takes place, your other dear friends are going through their own relationship and life challenges. Some find things out the easy way, while others, the hard way and that you can't always see people as pieces, but as the total package before you allow them to leave your life without giving them a chance.

Read for yourself so that you can be part of these friends, and if you haven't read "Good Guys Finish Last", you might want to read this first to know and understand the characters. When I finish a book by Lonz Cook, I wait in anticipation, as I hear myself say, Oh my, I can't wait until we meet again with my friends around my kitchen, sipping wine and catching up.

Come join our circle of friends!

Mr. Lonz Cook has again impressed me with his remarkable writing ability! I have recently had the pleasure of reading my first book by him entitled A Choice to Yield (of which the movie version is coming to theaters soon...can't wait!) This was the best novel I have read in a long, long time; but his novel, When Love Evolves, gives it fair competition. I have yet to read Good Guys Finish Last, which is the first of a triology that Mr. Cook has also written. However, as in A Choice to Yield, Lonz introduces the characters of the second book in the trilogy,When Love Evolves, in such a way that the reader is not bogged down with too many characters and personalities to remember all at once. He introduces them gradually and in such a way that, even without reading Good Guys Finish Last, the reader is able to get a good grip on each character's part in the story as well as each of their diversified personalities. These are characters you would meet in every-day life, some who you would be able to identify with and become best friends and others you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

The story begins as many romance novels do with a woman who doesn't realize until too late that the guy who was pursuing her was a real catch. When he gets involved with another woman and that relationship begins to get serious, the first woman wants him back and will stop at nothing to get him. That's where the similarity ends. Throw into this mystery, intrigue, scandal, and criminality, which Mr. Cook intricately weaves together, adding twists and turns with every page, and the story comes to life. Add all the characters Mr. Cook, through his writing, causes to come to life; and the reader finds himself not as an outsider looking in but as someone actively involved in the midst of it all, making for the reader yet another totally magical, enjoyable reading experience.

This was another page-turner, can't-put-it-down book written by Mr. Cook. Each page keeps the reader on the edge of his seat. I eagerly look forward to the creation of the last of Mr. Cook's trilogy, Against Conventional Expectations! Thank you, Lonz, for the wonderful novels you have provided us with so far!

When Love Evolves (Paperback)
Superb writing!!! I want to start by telling people that Lonz Cook is one heck of a writer! I had been anticipating the release of this book for quite some time and for a good reason.....it was more than I was expecting. "When Love Evolves" is not like any other romance /fiction book one has ever read before. I literally cannot put the book down and I can almost picture the characters while I read. I feel like I am inside the book and looking at the story evolve. There are some parts that I loved, so without giving too much away, I absolutely loved that Rodney did some man- scaping, nothing wrong with a man getting primped in fact I think it is sexy! Another part was when Simone and Sabrina drove away from the hospital and Sabrina comforted Simone and told her "let it out sis, it's good to let your frustrations out" I also felt like I could have been Simone when she pounded on Stefan's chest and says "you're an A#&" because I wanted to actually do the same to him even on a hospital bed...
I melted when Rodney gave Gail the "intangible gift"......how more romantic can you get?? What about Sabrina's feistiness when she told Gail "YES, we were in the middle of planning" Oh my gosh, I could hear her saying that and imagined her head gyrating too !!! Ok, I may be giving too much way here so, here are some adjectives for you, romantic, passionate, betrayal, emotional and intriguing. I look forward to reading whatever Lonz Cook writes and I encourage all readers out there to get a copy of this book as well as Lonz's other two books. I hate when I get towards the end of his books because I can't put the book down but yet I want to put it down because I don't want it to end. Also look forward to his Tempe book signing at the end of this month, this way I really get to praise this fine author in person. Keep writing my friend......and I will continue reading and telling people, even strangers to do the same.

Lonz did it again, I love the way he writes. I've read his 2 previous books and my expectations were high, well he didn't disappoint me. I believe he is a master creating scenes of action, he creates thrillers that make you stick your eyes to the pages and you don't want to put it down until you know what's next and the best thing is that you never know what will happen.

This book has everything: love, romance, action, suspense, passion, mystery. It's a wonderful plot. I enjoyed Dan, who after being a womanizer for a long time finally falls easily when a June sets him up, lol. Good one. On the other side there's Gail a professional and smart woman who did amazing things to get Rodney's attention until she becomes his girl and just when she believes they have a solid relationship, she finds out why he's so reluctant to commit to her: Simone, a woman who despised Rodney years ago and the woman he still dreams about. Silly man!!! . When Rodney meets Simone again a couple of years later after he last saw her, he makes his dreams come true and sleeps with her -cheating on Gail (typical, right?) and there starts my favorite part of this book, when the war is declared between Gail and Simone to win Rodney. The most amazing thing is Rodney's behavior during this battle.

Reading this book becomes a vice and you end up staying up late to advance in the story and read more. It leaves you that wonderful sensation of having lived each page as if you were one of the characters. If you enjoy reading, this is a must, honestly I think it should be a movie. I can't wait to see how this author will surprise us next time. Excellent read!!!

As the author, I missed the mark giving this book an honest description. It's much more than a simple relationship, it's greater than sisterly love, and it's more dynamic than a bad choice in selecting a mate. When Love Evolves is a very unique story, sharing those interactions that hold readers captive.

From Stefan to Rodney, or Dan's transition to Simone's trust in Sabrina, and Gail's strength to June's acceptance, the story intertwines with business, marketing, relationship challenges and life surprises.

When Love Evolves is the sequel to Good Guys Finish Last and the middle book of the trilogy. The next book in the series is "Against Conventional Expectations."

LOVE...we all want it, and need it. Even babies without it have failure to thrive. For most of us it is a continuing evolution. Today's times has made it increasingly more difficult. Hundreds of books have been written to give one advice on conquering it. But if you are ready for a book where you can just sit back and enjoy the evolution that exists between couples then "When Love Evolves" is the book for you. Not only does Lonz give you a bird's eye view of how men think in the love process, but unlike many male authors he fully gets the way women think as well, creating a dynamic live in the moment read.

Fantastic book...again great story line and expansions of the characters from "Good Guys Finish Last". The book was amazing, well written and edited. The characters were believable and made you feel as if you knew them. Rodney (main male character) is a man any woman would be happy to have. He explains love in ways that make you wish he was real! There is love, deception, romance, loss, hurt, pain and every emotion in between. Great job Mr. Cook!!

I just finished the digital version of this book. I must say I did love it. It is more than romance, it has love, drama, suspense and a bit of intrigue. It is insightful to how men think on certain things. You must read "Good Guys Finish Last" before you read this one and get a feel for the characters involved.I can't wait to read book three of this saga. Thumbs up to Lonz Cook on this book. I feel a best seller in on the way for this author.

I could not finish this book for two main reasons. 1. This book has not been edited properly. 2. This book is written like someone was giving a play-by-play of events. The writing is not thoughtful, provocative, or interesting. It is in serious need of clever adjectives and metaphors. The story seemed like it could have been interesting - so maybe with a few rewrites and a good editor it can have some hope; but it's not ready to be read yet.
