This story is not erotica. Rather, it is romance with some explicit parts. Cassandra (heroine) is living in a customer's Victorian house while it is being remodeled and redecorated. While shopping for all that new decor, Cassandra buys a chaise lounge haunted by Ethan, old timey soldier fellow, i.e. hero. The story was fairly well written, but I found the style kinda of hard to become engaged by. My problem, not the author's. I am giving this three stars because of the improbability of the several parts of the plot line. Just because a book is fiction, doesn't mean it shouldn't make sense. Just because you're writing erotica, doesn't mean you shouldn't put out a finished and polished product with a plot line that is entertaining and (especially for paranormal) suspends the reader's disbelief. Miss Kennedy, you failed in that regard. Here were my problems:
*Possible spoiler alert*
A.) I find it difficult but not outside the realm of possibility that a civil war era soldier made it to his mid-twenties a virgin. However, it's darn near impossible to believe the reason for that was because women in his time wanted to wait for marriage. There is a reason why prostitution is called the world's oldest profession. Houses of Ill-Repute were very much alive and well in civil war times, and it wasn't because no one frequented them. As a soldier, he would have encountered at least one in every town they marched near. As a man, his father would have taken him to one when he came of age, around 15 or so. If you want to make Ethan a virgin, fine. But make his reason for it realistic. This was where my suspension of disbelief was shaken.
B.) And here is where it hit the flippin' floor and died. His...ahem, manly attribute was too hard for sex? Seriously? That's the reason you want to give us for why they don't have sex right away? There are other reasons to give a BJ! This kind of a cop-out isn't just annoying, it's insulting to your readers.
I liked the beginning. I thought it interesting that the ghost inhabited a chair instead of the house. I liked how the author brought the ghost into this realm, and I loved how she ended it. It was anything but cliche and proves the author did put some thought into her plot. Apparently, it was all the rest the book that she couldn't be bothered to give her time and imagination to. I really don't know if I'll give another of her books a chance, but at this point I doubt it.
This was a steamy little read with a romantic side. Great short read if you just need something short to pass time.
Cassie has left her home and is staying in a plantation style home she is redecorating. When she goes to the local antique store to purchase furniture she is really drawn to a chaise lounge, she isn't sure why because she has never cared for them. She decides its a must have for the house. What she doesn't know she brought a ghost home with her and no he is trying to make himself knowm. Ethan has never been so obessed with someone before, he never worried about his presence being known. But as he watches everything Cassie does including pleasuring herself in the bathroom after a shower, he has to make sure she knows he's there. He is moving her cup, making the lights go off and everytime he's by her she gets cold.
She ask her best friend if she believes in ghost and she laughs at her, but tells her to light a bunch of candles with the lights off to summon the ghost. Ethan makes the candle go out and she gets a little nervous and she tells him she is gonna ask questions and if he can hear her knock. This is how she finds out its a male ghost and that yes he is watching her. She decides to bring in a meduim to try and find out more information. This is when she learns his name and he was a solider. They go to his grave to do a true summoning and she thinks it didn't work till she gets home and Ethan is there waiting.
She finds out he is a very hot looking 25 year old solider that is a virgin. The reason he has not been able to move on is he regrets never being in love and making love to a beautiful women... Of course things heat up in a hurry and then he crosses over but tells her he will see her again..

This is a novelette of the erotic version and as I’m saying it again, it has to be difficult as an author to pack a good story punch into 60 pages or less. Thankfully, my new favorite author Stacey Kennedy does just that. This story is a classic ghost story in most ways. You know, in an old home, a young woman takes off her top while something spooky looks on. Yup, that happens here, but you are treated to the ghost’s version as well as the young woman’s. It turns into a story that could be titled “You’ve Got Ghosts.” The young woman, wanting to meet this ghost of hers, hooks up with a clairvoyant who helps her take her ghost over to the other side, but not before the ghost and the young woman are treated to a memorable love scene and one that honestly choked me up just a little. Yeah, me.
There’s eroticism of the truest form in this book, there’s a good ghost story, and a good lust story as well. Again, in my reader’s eyes, Ms. Kennedy can do no wrong.
What I liked: Something that Ms. Kennedy seems to sneak into most of her books, her endearing sense of humor. While providing what would be common sense scenes in this book, her sense of humor is something uncommon and delightful.
What I disliked: Taking this story for what it is, a short erotic story, it is perfection. There’s nothing I didn’t like.
This is a short novella about an interior decorator who stumbles upon a ghost who's attached to a piece of furniture she bought from an antique store.
Cassie is an interior decorator from NY. She got a big job down South to redo a gutted home from top to bottom. When Cassie is shopping at an antique shop. She sees a beautiful chaise lounge that she's drawn to. She buys it along with many other pieces and goes back to the house.
Ethan Thomas fought and died in the Civil War. He died with one regret, though. He was so consumed with war, he never made time for anyone special in his life. He died a virgin. That regret is what's been holding him back to Heaven. When Cassie buys his chaise, he tries to talk to her by knocking things over and turning on lights.
Cassie feels a coldness whenever she gets around the chaise. She feels like she's being watched. When she starts asking the ghost questions and he answers her with knocks, she decides to get a medium for help for Ethan.
Oh dear. Now I know why I've never been an avid romance fan. This short story was just one word to me: corny. I thought I'd dip my toe in the paranormal romance genre with this story as it was only around 35 pages long but right from the start I was constantly giggling internally to myself at the language used and the references made. I don't know why but romantic stories like this have just never done it for me. I tend to pick the scenes to pieces and shake my head the whole time because I get so baffled at what I'm reading. I guess I'm more of a 'realist' when it comes to romance and these types of books are most definitely not real in any way, shape or form. Any fans of paranormal romance out there (especially the naughty kind) will probably love this story but it was just a bit too much for me. This is definitely and 'adults only' story too.
I recently discovered that I am currently in novella mode. I'm not sure I did it on purpose, but the last couple of freebie downloads that I acquired have been short and sweet. Turns out that sometimes short and sweet is perfect. In the case of 'Til We Meet Again, it would be short, sweet and hot.
There wasn't much time for character development in this book, but it didn't keep you from feeling for either one of them. Cassandra's compassion for Ethan and his situation was strong. I loved Ethan's attraction to Cassandra and the 'situation' that kept him hanging around.. I'm not sure I was satisfied with the ending, but it was where the story needed to go, so I can't argue with it, but *sigh*
All in all, 'Til We Meet Again was a perfect bedtime read. If you're looking for a quick, hot read, this one should fill the bill. Enjoy!
This was a very short story that had been written as part of an anthology of romantic ghost stories. Unfortunately, this story was pretty implausible, and thus ruined my enjoyment of the story. The ending made little sense, from a reality standpoint, and there really was nothing more to the plot than the build up toward the one sex scene in the story. The hero talked totally alien to what you would expect from his time frame, even with the totally pat explanation that we are given for him doing so. The heroine was hard to connect with, and practically emotionless. I thought it was a quick read, good for the beach, but ultimately forgettable.
A sweet quickie that I enjoyed reading. A ghost attached to an object is not unheard of but a chaise lounge…I’ve always loved chaise lounges and want one for my own library…true! My favorite scene was the bathroom one with Cassandra and Ethan watching…Nice…
Review: I pretty much have to said that I like this short story. It is pretty interesting for me to read this short story and kind of amazed by it. I didn't expect that a character would have sex with a ghost who had been dead during the Civil War. Also, I didn't expect that the ghost were a virgin and now he isn't. The reason why he is still is because he have never have the pleasure with women, all he focus on was war and he regret it for not to get to experience it.
I stumbled upon this short story of Stacey's while in anticipation of Supernaturally Kissed, the first book to her Frostbite series. This short ghost story only made me more anxious for the release of the other series. Who would have guessed that ghosts could be so sensationally delicious? Stacey Kennedy definitely pulled it off with amazing skill.
'Til We Meet Again is a romantic ghost story. This is the first book I've read by Stacey Kennedy though she's been on my TBR list for a long time. I'm glad I decided to spend part of my Saturday afternoon in the world Stacey created for Cassie and Ethan. 'Til We Meet Again was hauntingly beautiful.
This was a great little short story!!! Even with the story only being 35 pages, the author pulled off the almost impossible with this short story; we got to know the main characters. I love short stories that make me want more!!! This is a must read for readers that want a short and sweet story in between series!!!
This book was very good and I enjoyed it. My only complaint is the end. I hate when books end the way this one did, but overall it was very sweet. I loved the passion and the sweetness and even though it's a short story you got what you needed for the most part from the story. Unfortuantly it also left me with a few questions about other stuff in the book but I really did enjoy it :)
I never doubt that I will enjoy Stacey's stories, no matter their length. They are always supernaturally delicious.
This is a very short short about the stranded soul of a Civil War soldier who finds what he didn't realize he was looking for in the arms of an interior decorator.
Short. A ghost is brought to life after being caught "in the middle." His virginity holding him there. This chick brings him back to life, gives him a BJ and herself and he's gone. Poof.
Ethan a ghost from the civil war who keeps trying to make contact with the living. Cassie the interior designer who senses him, decides to make contact. The meeting is anything but boring, but the story was a little short could have been longer.
