A number of articles in the book are excerpt from Living with the Himalayan Masters. It is good to read them again.
I have given the book only three stars the publisher did not warn the readers that the book contained excerpts from Swami Rama's classic book. Disappointed. Nonetheless, I have given the three stars for what the book has done to me now.
In a series of anecdotes, the reader receives gentle instruction on how to successfully undertake the journey of life. The anecdotes are multi-layered in their meaning, and convey profound messages with considerable subtlety. They reflect the author’s mastery over oneself. There are experiments and experiential learning, which are projected as superior to mere intellectual exercise. The reader is made to understand that anyone committing to undertake this journey of self-discovery can evolve in to a realised human being.
The narration is told in a simple, direct manner that is easy to understand and a delight to read. The reader remains gripped by the many life-changing experiences related by the author, and eagerly looks forward to the next one.
This work may be read as a precursor to "Living with the Himalayan Masters," written by the same author.
Peccato!
