Let Dai #3

Let Dai, Volume 03

Rate this book
Everything is changing, and not all the changes are good. The memory of a brutal assault is still fresh in Eunhyung's mind, and the wounds have not yet healed. Yooneun is being stalked by a mysterious stranger, whose family carries more significance than she could possibly know. Jaehee is trapped in a struggle with his conscience and his irrepressible emotions for the gang leader who has inflicted so much pain. And Dai finally reveals a surprising glimpse of his soul - a little bit of tenderness hidden under the sea of apathy and violence. So many secrets, so many twists of fate, and so many sins to forgive. Rated for teens 16+.

Another fine and entertaining addition to this series. I'm wishing I'd picked up more of these when they were beginning to be published.

This is a beautifully drawn manhwa, the pictures are truly gorgeous. But the story is rather sad and mostly very depressing. And that's the reason why I decided to drop this series - at least for now. Don't get me wrong, the story itself is very intriguing but you feel that it just can't end well for Jaehee and Dai and I just don't do sad endings well. So for me, this manhwa is on-hold for the time being.

seeing how J and E reacted to their trauma and how them both hurt and J taking the blame entirely while he is just as broken as E makes my stomach hurl, it's not so pleasant. and getting into dai's dysfunctional family added to the poisonous cauldron the mangaka been stirring. i know this series is never meant to be a comfortable ride, but so far it's just me enduring every single terrible thing that happened in here. the question is, is it worth it? (for the prose, probably. so i'd say it's so-so)

I continue to be interested in the characters and the story and want to know what's going to happen next. The cliche basis of the characters being used to address these tough issues and the awkward, over-philosophical, and even silly inner monologues keep me from absolutley loving the books.

Eunhyung starts to act out in less interesting ways. Dai and Jaehee's relationship continues to alternate between intriguing and incomprehensible.

Re-read. Not the most eventful volume of the series, but so SOOO pretty. Introduces Naru Hagi's family, more of Dai's family.
