Definitely different from the Korean tv show. Ellie and Rayder's love story was a bit dragging at some parts and yes, full of misunderstandings but nevertheless something that you look forward to reading again and again.
A little cliche and cheesy, but I didn't expect much more. I really loved the A+ banter, and it made me laugh here and there. This series seems like a good way to pass the time and just stop thinking too deeply for a bit to relax.
First in a manhwa series originally published in 1995, and the artwork and elements of the plot reflect the period. But the dated part aside, this was pretty painful in terms of story. The heroine is a 20-something Korean who is an aspiring screenwriter working on her first script. She’s estranged from her architect father, but living in England in a house he designed when some men show up in her bedroom one morning to evict her. They work for a famous actor who they claim has bought the house. Apparently, her father never told her the house was sold, and she never contacts him. She hates this actor, before the eviction, though it’s not clear why. All we know about him is he was photographed picking a large insect off another man and the photo was misconstrued by the media as a homosexual tryst. His female fans are so upset that he’s gay that one attempts suicide. (Like I said, 1990s.) He goes into a sneezing fit while driving and hits the heroine with his car. Her manuscript scatters and she breaks a toe. So she ends up in a full leg cast, and wheel-chair bound. It’s hate at first site. He retrieves all but 10 pages of the scattered partial manuscript. So she demands he return her house as compensation. But instead they get fake engaged and move into the house together. The plot is so forced it’s almost non-sensical—I could barely get through it. This is a perfect example of what goes wrong when you give plot full control, without balancing it with believable character motivation. There’s no chemistry between them, they don’t want to be around each other, so why would they get fake engaged? He could have found someone else. The animosity between them is a big part of what made it painful to read. There needs to be conflict, but there also needs to be chemistry and more than a one-sided physical attraction to build a believable romance.
I needed a book for the category "book with the same name as a movie or tv show but that isn't related to it." I did make it through the whole book. It was a little cliched and unrealistic for my tastes.
Elle, a young Korean woman living in England, ends up tangled up with Ryder, a celebrity bad boy who has bought her house out from under her. They hate each other and can't be civil together for anything, yet still end up engaged.
Bleh, read it, tried to get into the series but could not. This came out when there wasn't a lot of manga available (it was still new) so we bought whatever came out. I think I got two or three books in and quit.
I discovered this manga upon its mention in the Korean drama 25 21. My curiosity got the best of me and I looked it up. It was fun but so clichéd. Will I continue with it though? Probably not.
a partir del capt 16 ya no encuentro más pero está bn pq solo lo empecé pq en 2521 la prota sale con un tío solo para romper con el para sentirse como en este manga y me hizo gracia
Thank God this manhwa is different from the TV drama. Story-wise, this manhwa is where you find that EVERYONE has misunderstanding issues. No, really. It's all about misunderstanding. However, it worth reading and despite the misunderstanding issue, it's a manhwa I'd truly read over and over.
I loved this, but the publisher went under and no one else has picked it up here :( Very sad. I did see the Korean adaptation, though and it was REALLY good.
mungkin karena melihat dramanya terlebih dahulu terpikir sebagus dgn dramanya. alhasil ternyata lebih bagus dramanya ketimbang manganya. tapi aku suka dgn covernya. very beautiful
This manhwa is so full of misunderstanding and drama, and it was really draggy at many parts, but the love between Ryder and Ellie and the sweet ending made up for it. <3
