My therapist recommended this book as a way to deal with anxiety, depression, anger and the like. I think it's a FABULOUS tool for those who consider themselves "aware" of their issues.

It will help you if you are willing to put in hard work and lots of tears confronting fears you'd rather brush aside, if you are willing to admit your faults and to discover new faults you hadn't been made aware of yet, and if you are really wanting to change for THE BETTER.

It uses cognitive behavioral therapy. Mainly, I journaled. I kept a diary on my phone and typed a quick note whenever I felt ANYTHING. Fear, anxiety, anger. All the things I wanted to change or make go away. Then I analyzed them. The book gives you lots of tools for this, how to work through your irrational thoughts and replace them with HEALTHY ones.

It really is a well-written, easy to read, well thought out book worth reading if you are into self-help and want to fix your issues! Irrational thinking is at the bottom of it all, whether it be from your childhood or acquired over the years. I'm reading the SOS Parents version next!

Margaret never want to see the man again. But after a year unfortunately he returns. And will not leave! Insufferable man! Luke only wants to make the one lady who turned his head to fall back in love with him but how since she wont even talk to him or see him. But he has a plan.
And yet he leaves again.
As this romance evolves only time will tell it they can weather what lie throws at them. I was so enthralled by this book. This book and this series has been a wonderful break from the ordinary world. Love can see a way through anything, if you give it a chance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with guidelines

This book really helped me out of my depression in 2018. I thought I was an independent person until I started to live alone in a new place where I had no connections in as a young adult. It still took time and other efforts to "get back to normal" even after reading this, but it was good step for self care towards my mental health. The hard part about depression is that theres no one way of elevating it and there is no "one size fits all" approach.

This book, and more specifically it's male protagonist, is spectacularly daft. Apparently some sort of Pain In Youth has left him unable to act like a sensible or kind human being, leading to all manner of mishap with his intended happy-ever-after as she rightfully things him ... not a great bet.

I reached the end of the book still very unconvinced he was much to write home about.

Not a terrible read, just a tedious character.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

My therapist gave this to me to read. At first I thought it was really basic and repetitive. And then I started easily recalling portions of the book, and the 3 shoulds, and the 5 hot links, and on and on, and I realized this was the first self-help-y book that you could actually easily implement, and I was much impressed. Whether it will help or not, TBD. But at least now I have a workbook.

Wow. This book has helped me so much and explains CBT so well and at ground level. The book is repetitive in nature, but !not in an noting way; in a way that hammers the main ideas that readers will not be able to forget.

It’s such a practical tool and has helped me manage my emotions and enhanced my relationships.

This technique of CBT has been very helpful with many of my clients dealing with a variety of issues including but not limited to explosive outbursts of anger, anxiety, & bipolar disorder. It breaks the technique down into understandable terms which are very explainable to the adolescent population I work with.

I read this book while in the midst of Postpartum depression. It was very helpful in giving me tools to recognize the thought patterns that trigger depression and or anxiety and how to combat them.

Useful for self or for staff members, esp if one works through the included worksheets and keeps using them.
Occasional dry humor.
Repetitive about Clark's mantra, I.e. "I don't like i,; it's ok; I can stand it anyway." He restates these sayings to help one remind himself.
