Besides the annoyingly long thinking scenes the book was amazing! It had so much adventure and romance that it wasn't boring at all. I love historical books that aren't just taken place in one town. They being Blake and Megan had so many up and downs not just at first with their relationship but trying to survive and get back the ranch. The suspenseful close call to death made the book off the edge thrilling. This is Definitely a great historical romance read, I'll be sure to add this author to my list of books I will search for at thrift stores .... Wonder if Jake has his own story in a book?

I read this book years ago but forgot all about it until I saw it again and decided to re-read it. As much as I like the general story line some parts of the book seem unnecessary or tend to take up too much of the story. She is on her way to her fiancé when her stage is held up. He is the outlaw who holds up her stage and kidnaps her. The reason he takes her is in retaliation to the fact that her fiancé and his mother had taken his birthright possessions. He is out to ransom her for the rightful return of is possessions. This, of cause, backfires.

Minus the long and tedious love scenes and overabundance of exclamation points, this was a pretty interesting story. The way the story ended up was fine, but one last long and tedious love scene at the end -- I could have done without that.
