Sound the Cosmic Horn! Bestselling author Louise Rennison's seventh book of the confessions of crazy but loveable teenager Georgia Nicolson is out in PB!
Louise Rennison was the bestselling award-winning author of the phenomenally successful ‘Confessions of Georgia Nicolson’ series, translated into over 34 languages and to the stage and big screen as ‘Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging’. She has won the Nestle Smarties Book Prize, the Michael L. Printz Honor Book and the Roald Dahl Funny prize for ‘Withering Tights’. Louise sadly died on February 29, 2016.
It is impossible to review these books properly. Georgia wouldn't stand for it and neither would I. She did, however, give me permission to draft up the Georgiaphiliac Manifesto. I will tell you this for free, it is marvy with knobs. What do you mean, I'm tooting my own HOOOOOOOORN?
The Georgiaphiliac Manifesto
A proper Georgiaphile does not cry. She blubs.
A proper Georgiaphile does not do her make-up. She tarts herself up.
A proper Georgiaphile does not wear bras. She wears over the shoulder bolder holders.
A proper Georgiaphile does not have a father nor a mother. She has a vati and a mutti.
A proper Georgiaphile does not kiss until she's out of breath. She gets snogged within in inch of her life.
A proper Georgiaphile does not have a best friend. She has a bestest pally.
A proper Georgiaphile does not get fits. She has a ditherspaz.
This one was not the best of the series so far! Nothing actually happened, and the "big surprise" was very predictable, even to a young teenager I'd think!
ahhhhhh chat i fear what started as a silly little series adapted into one of my fav childhood movies that would help me reach my reading goal has now officially hooked me!!! and chat whyyyyyyy are books 8 and 9 unavailable everywhere except for me to purchase????😭 this was actually my fav so far bc georgia is finally growing emotional intelligence while still being true to herself at heart
I have no idea how Louise managed to write so much about nothing and that is a complement! Georgia spends the majority of this book in sheer desperadoes and in the cakeshop of aggers, waiting a full week (and a day) for Masimo's response. But Masimo turns her down saying he's not ready to have a serious relationship yet. Poo. Soon after, she's mate-zoned. Dave the Laugh's still giving her mixed signals, snogging her and smacking her bum. Georgia even sends a letter back to Robbie! What a three-timer! I really don't know who to root for at this stage!
The biggest merde storm landed, in the history of Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, at the conclusion of Startled by his Furry Shorts and I am in a complete ditherspaz!

This seventh installment in the series finds Georgia Nicolson on her way to “the cakeshop of agony” yet again as she worries over whether Massimo will agree to be her one and only. This book lacks the freshness of the series opener (Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging) and feels a bit like the same one we’ve read seven times now as Georgia struggles with the usual predicaments: embarrassing parents, school woes, appearance anxiety, and of course, boy trouble. Nevertheless, dedicated fans of Georgia will enjoy this title despite the lack of new material, and the glossary translating English slang into “American” is still hilarious.
Some lol moments but after book 6, when you know the outcome, you kind of wonder what can possibly fill 4 more books. Good cliffhanger ending though! Will keep reading, these are still fun and funny even if the plot is getting way drawn out.
