The love of a child's laughter inspired me to write children's books. With every passing day more and more wonderful visions of worlds yet to be created fill my head. After some time I decided to try my hand at adult fiction and short story writing. Though it is unique in its own way, short stories and horror could not fill the void and my word-crafting obsession is still children's books.

Are you ready to Rumble? Want to read a seriously dark, angry, violent origin story to a new and gripping sci-fi/fantasy digital short story franchise? Do you groove on fire golems and wolves? In the future after reading this are you going to stare at people on the beach to see if they do indeed possess a belly button? How many more questions can I right in a row? Will I ever tell you what this story is about and stop beating around the bush? Can I in fact get to what is between the virtual pages? Did Cody Toye in fact, while sitting on his living room floor with his laptop and a cup of coffee, write this story? Is the Intangibles a series?
“The story begins, "Hate has always been an intangible force." Although hate may be intangible, the effects of hatred are very apparent. You'll be sitting on the edge of your seat, gripping your ereader tightly as these "beings" project their hatred on everyone they encounter. Okay enough with the questions already. This is a new, dynamic, dark, violent, and thought provoking series from Cody Toye who thus far has brought us: Dribbles the Squirrel, Zorza the Alien, & The Toye Box Collection of Children’s stories. Have I missed anything? Sorry I am trying to stay away from the questions right now. What I am trying to say is that Cody can write in many different genres, age groups, and carry it off well. The Proposition blends so many different elements of basic human needs, wants and desires, but it is through the eyes of aliens that are superior to us, can destroy us, kill us, and we are almost powerless to stop them. We need one of them to stop them so he can be the last one of his kind left and then the deal is he will be allowed to be one of us. Basically exterminate your species and we will let you walk among us as you so much crave to.
On the path to this journey people get killed at an alarming rate, dying grizzly deaths at the hands of the “bad” guys if you will. Are they really bad if they are superior and just want to rule over us? Oops there goes another question, sorry. My thoughts on this are very basic: it is a well -crafted digital short story that is an engaging read. I personally am looking forward to the next installment. Drop the buck on it and go for the ride. Have you checked your neighbor’s belly button lately?
Things have changed around here. I am now the published author of “Down Low- Dead” with Vincent Zandri, “The Jersey Shore Has Eyes” with Big Daddy Abel”and the soon to be released “Who Whacked the Blogger” with Benjamin Sobieck, “G.S.I Gelati’s Scoop Investigations Psychotic Detectives” with Thomas White, “Thad and The G-Man’s Most Awesome Adventure” with Thad Brown and “Hotel Beamont” with B.R. Stateham. All the stories are available @ Amazon, Barnes & Nobles and Smashwords. I am also the host of the wildly popular The G-ZONE blogtalk radio show. Thanks for stopping by today; We will see you tomorrow. Have a great day. http://www.gelatisscoop.blogspot.com

For me, personally, Intangible was a rather unique read, which readers of Cafe of Dreams Book Reviews know that I love. It is amazingly fun to find something that breaks the rules of "normal" and lends the reader an authentic, interesting and thought-provoking story, while allowing entertainment as it's forefront. This is exactly what Intangible brought to me.

This is a short story based upon another type of life source. There are beings who wreck gruesome and greedy havoc upon humans, all to entertain themselves. These beings must be stopped and that is the duty given to Max, in exchange for his freedom. Here is an interesting excerpt to lend readers a glimpse into the back story:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Do you know how we stopped more from coming? The newborns had no belly-buttons. They didn't need them. Humans feed through an umbilical cord, but your kind feed off of emotions. We executed every infant without a belly-button. Brutal, but necessary."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Intrigued? Well, you should be. Imagine having the power to make things happen or material things come to life and do your bidding just by thinking it. Imagine the horror and unimaginable pain that this could bring. These are just a few thoughts to think about while beginning Intangible. Hatred feeds and hatred breeds. Dangerous and deadly. The Proposition: Intangible is dark, dank and futuristic (or is it?). After finishing, I was dying to read more and cannot wait for the next in the series. Incredibly visual and vivid, the scenes play like a movie in the mind and leave the reader reeling for more.
