The perfect gift for any dog lover, this tribute to man's best friend pairs charming quotes about canines with images by four of the world's best-selling animal photographers. Within these pages are puppies and dogs of every shape and size pawing, playing, and just looking darn cute!
Elliott Erwitt (born Elio Romano Erwitz) is an advertising and journalistic photographer known for his black and white candid shots of ironic and absurd situations within everyday settings -- the master of the "indecisive moment".
What I really loved about this book was the foreword by Trudie Styler, who just so happens to be married to one of my favourite singers, Rock Legend - Sting. I enjoyed reading about Sting's love of his dogs, but, didn't care much for the posed picture. Poor Sting looks exhausted and you can tell that he'd rather be anywhere else except doing another photo shoot ... but, ya know, gotta keep the wife happy. LOL
All in all this is a very relaxing book to flip through when the brain is just simply too tired for a *real* book.
Woof is a photographic (mostly black and white, a few color pictures) collection featuring dogs by Elliott Erwitt. It's dogs being dogs - some are more eye catching and interesting than others, but not a bad collection. It's a fine book to page through but I wouldn't pay full cover price for the book.
This is a pretty cute coffee table book - I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this - if it would be all pictures or have some descriptions to go along. I wouldn't have paid for this in a store - I received it from PBS.
Pictures of dogs being dogs. Some more interesting than others. Wish there was information with the pictures so you had a better idea of what you were looking at.
OK, I admit that there really wasn't anything to "read" here...just some excellent photos of some excellent looking canines, including one that I swear could be Ranger's twin.
