Look out Sue Grafton & Kinsey Millhone, there's a new gun in town & her heroines are playing for keeps!
Consider yourself warned! This is more than just a short story ... much, much more. It's a close up of what successful storytelling looks like. The author, S.L. Pierce, possesses talent that far exceeds excellence. Mysteries with an edge and well-timed humor are Pierce's forte and her stories are addictive!
The action in "The Warning" is masterful as it takes a sinister turn that you won't see coming. It sneaks in like a calm wind before a deadly storm. The heroine is strong-willed and honed in on how she wants this tale to end ... do or die ...
The writing is professional and creative with glimpses of brilliance. I even came away with a few favorite quotes. It's Pierce's goal to tell a story like no one else has AND her storyline, phrasing and unique descriptions tell me that she's well on her way.
Once you purchase this eBook and you've read the story and you don't want the action to stop ... you will be pleasantly surprised! But I'm not going to tell you why ...
"The Warning," is the first of S.L. Pierce's books that I have read... but it's not the last ...
Peggy Randall-Martin author of "So Far Behind" & "Backside of the Mirror"
Gwen works for a detective agency that takes crimes her clients don't want to report to the police. Some crimes are just too personal.
The client, Mr. Roberts, arrives at the agency with her grandson Patrick. The widowed grandmother has struggled to build a highly successful business. Patrick shows no appreciation and in fact is stealing from grandmother. When confronted with overwhelming evidence, Patrick smugly chooses to rationalize his actions.
Gwen decides to teach Patrick a lesson. I'll assure you, she gets his attention. You'll have to read this short story to see how she if she gets his cooperation.
Gwen Michaels gets rough and tough when she sees no alternative. A full-length novel with Gwen's unique solutions would be very entertaining. Love author, S.L. Pierce's, style of writing. She has an uncanny ability to capture the readers' attention from beginning to end. I look forward to reading all that she has written. Rebecca Scarberry.
Awesome. This short story leaves you wanting more. Hopefully the author will build on the main character, and produce a novel. Don't miss this, it only takes 10 or 15 minutes to read, and you won't be disappointed.
A short story and a few teasers. Although the story was, to me, a bit too short, the samples of the author's other works were compelling. A more detailed review to come.
This story captures your interest from the very beginning and whisks you straight through to a very satisfying conclusion. Look forward to finding more books by this author, good read!
