Her books highlight voice and narrative, such as the popular collection of first-person persona poems Stories I Ain't Told Nobody Yet. She devoted many years to developing community theater and storytelling projects.
While attending her grandmother's birthday party, a young girl shares with her family that she has a loose tooth. Her uncle volunteers to extract it for her. Hi-jinks abound as the girl's uncle requires several tools to get the job done.
Uncle Tom is determined to get out the loose tooth. This is a funny book about the different tools Uncle Tom will use. He has her get pliers, a hammer, a screwdriver, and a crowbar. All along she thinks Uncle Tom's pulling her leg until he goes in for the attack. Then dad gets in on the attack. This is a fun, family book about losing a tooth and the different things we are willing to do to extract it.
this book had some funny parts however it wasnt a real good book. I wouldnt recommend this for a read aloud just because i feel like the kids wouldnt enjoy it as much as another book.
