Sebastian Étaîn and Paris Brien. Two of a kind, the boys've been friends for God knows how long. When Sebastian's girlfriend wants a break, Paris is there for him. But wait - what, exactly, is it that Paris is there for again?
StarCounter did an amazing job with the story. I really liked how the viewpoint changed from Paris to Sebastian - especially in the later chapters their differences came to light even better and I didn't need to check who's the one telling stuff. Their story was cute and messed up in a good way. StarCounter pulled the characters well and the hetero stuff worked in this case wonderfully. I always kind of resent stories that have characters interested in only one person, since it's not realistic (no worries in this one).
Sadly so I would have wanted to know more about how Sebastian understood he's gay for Paris. The best part in using the first person POV is that one can actually do that well. Now it seemed that Sebastian all too suddenly noticed his feeling and Paris turning gay was all too sudden as well. Otherwise the flow of the story was nice and everything was well explained and thought. Now the sad part with the first person POV (though it's a minor detail); the weird need to explain how everything looks for the sake of the reader but not fitting for the story really. It's like breaking the fourth wall as it happens with comics. The sex scene was also lacking meaning that it felt like the writer had just forgotten it. The flow didn't work there and I'm not saying the story needed lustful descriptions of sex, but what it needed was better ways to not to write out the sex scene still so that it happened.
I loved the story to bits, since it hits so many kinks of mine and well, it's well written too. I'm happy to have found this.
