In an era in which sexual sin is destroying marriages and families, toppling government leaders, causing rampant STDs among a generation, ravaging entire nations through AIDS, and inviting God’s judgment on nations, Unmasked is a book with revelation that could change our very culture.Revelation about…God’s gift of sexuality. The heart of a woman.God’s true design for men and women.A father’s role in protecting his daughters and training his sons. The worship of sex that threatens nations with God’s judgment. The church’s mandate in a culture that worships sex.Revelation that offers…Release to women as they recognize the lies of the culture that as a pure daughter of the King.A challenge to men to rise up to be protectors instead of predators.A call to pastors and leaders to identify, confront, and tear down the worship of the sex gods in the culture and create a culture in the church to train God’s people in purity and His ways in relationships.Hope to a nation deserving of God’s judgment because of the shedding of innocent blood.
For nearly 20 years Pastor Jim has been traveling around the world preaching restoration and healing to the heart of wounded daughters and sons. But he doesn't just preach he actually lives it out and the fruit can be seen in his ministry and in his children (I know them personally.)
This book is a must read for both men and women, young and old. Women will learn about who God made them to be. Men will learn about what authentic manhood is all about. Fathers will learn how to win the hearts of their sons and daughters.
I recommend that every Pastor, Christian, Father, Mother, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife read this book.
This book is a MUST READ for any woman that wants to have a healthy relationship, as men, we are oblivious to the damage we do to you or how it affects future relationships with you. Got a daughter? Get her, her own copy.
Since the fall, sin spread from the garden in every direction, fueled by the growing wickedness in the hearts of men and women. Sexual immorality is unlike other sins because it causes us to carry shame and condemnation in our physical bodies and our very souls.
Jim Anderson’s revelation here and in his ministry Sexuality Unmasked can bring revival to the world if we do the hard work of identifying, confronting, tearing down and utterly destroying the worship of sex. This book changed my life and I will continue to receive indirect discipleship from his preaching on YouTube. I hope to get this book into as many willing hands as I can. Lord I ask that you raise up an army of 5 million young men & 5 million young women who are free and will boldly confront the cultural sexual assault. In Jesus’s name amen.
It was okay. I picked it up because it's a very important topic, and one I'm interested in, but from the moment I started reading it I was flip-flopping over whether I liked it or not. It really comes down to writing style. I did not like the writing style. It's hard to say why, exactly. Part of it is because the author simply sounds so American. He talks a lot about himself. But there's just something about this book--like it's a good topic written about in the wrong way. I don't know how to be more specific. I read the first few chapters, and skimmed a few more chapters throughout, but did not read the book in its entirety, and don't see myself going back to it.
I didn’t know this book existed until I heard about all the controversy over it. Why do some people want free speech censored? Now I know!! This book was fascinating and revealing. I’m glad I read it. I would highly recommend it to those who are interested in the culture wars in our country, or those interested in group sociology.
I had a very different feeling reading this book now nearly three years after the first reading. Initially I felt the way in which men in particular were addressed was far too simplistic and overly stereotypical. It was good and encouraging to focus on the "heart of a daughter", yet it left some emptiness as I tried to reconcile my own heart and feelings as a man. The book did not seem to have much to offer me in this respect. I wondered if it was far to stereotypical and simplistic about women as well. This time through I was more intrigued and I felt more convinced about the battle for purity in our society. Ted Roberts book Pure Desire: Helping People Break Free From Sexual Struggles was much more inspiring for me in this regard and I had read it twice between the first and second reading of this book. I also had much less confusion and personal shame this time through as I have been living with purity and have made some amends for my past since I read this the first time.
Really good book in concept and a much needed message that if we are going to follow Jesus we must submit our sexuality to him; his constant exposure of the pain caused by not doing so is also something that needs to be heard more. However, the extremely charismatic theology and thinking assumes you will feel what the author is saying rather than engage the ideas thoughtfully and the theology assumes that every verse in the Bible is applicable to every situation for anyone, which drives me nuts. A great book for dads and pastors to read assuming they can handle the charismatic theology that pervades every page, otherwise just read "Bringing Up Girls" and call it good.
