Summer Fever by Donna Hill - Ian and Nina's affair was hot and steamy from the beginning to end. I was glad to see their Love grow and they got through all the stubbornness.

One Hot Summer by Niobia Bryant - Maleek and Love's affair stood the test, with all the twist and turns. I was glad to see them make it though all the drama that comes with fame.

To Hot To Handel by Zuri Day - Trey and Choice, Hot, hot, hot. There love affair was explosive. I just love a man with swagger and confidence.

Summer fiya ! 🔥

Well, I have found two more romance authors to read and follow. I have enjoyed the author, Zurich Day's creativity in the series, "Morgan Men". Donna Hill and Niobia Bryant have entertained me with these short stories.
Nina and Ian's characters amused and delighted me from the Hamptons.
Love and Maleek's characters had me cheering. I was thrown off by the unpredictable deception.
Choice's character has made an appearance in another story along with Trey's character made this my summer complete with reading.

I LOVEDDDDDD this book. I thought all the stories were done so well and every I wanted every story to continue and was upset that it ended. The spice in all the books were absolutely perfect and the only reason I’m giving it a four star is simply because I wanted more of every story.

If I had one complaint it would be the repetitiveness of all the main characters falling for each other so fast but I also understand it since they are short stories and there was also enough tension between them to make it believable and interesting.

In 1963 when Martha and the Vandellas were crooning that love is like a heat wave, no one knew they were paving a way for the 2011 rendition of a new threesome to be reckoned with. Donna Hill, Niobia Bryant and Zuri Day have penned the novel Heat Wave, and it is definitely sizzling, to say the least. Like a soft, smoky voice over some smooth, sultry jazz, Heat Wave stirs up plenty of passion.

Donna Hill begins with “Summer Fever,” which is the story of Nina Forbes and Ian Harrison and the weeks they spend in Hampton Beach. Nina is housesitting for a friend, while Ian occupies his home in the Hamptons during the summer months so that he can operate his local lounge. Their sexual attraction is apparent from the start and after an intimate evening with friends, they decide to take things to the next level and have a summer fling. Knowing that Nina has to go back to Brooklyn and Ian has to return to Barbados, they agree that a long-distance relationship is out of the question for them both. But neither expected to find themselves longing for more as they have found something in each other unparallel to any other relationship they’ve been in. When Nina’s trip comes to an abrupt end earlier than expected because of unforeseen circumstances, they part for what Nina believes is forever. Especially because weeks pass without a word from Ian. Ian, on the other hand, is focused on making the arrangements necessary to concentrate on a more promising endeavor. When he shows up in Brooklyn and explains that he has left his businesses in the capable hands of his staff so that he could build a life with her, Nina is relieved and overjoyed as they turn their “Summer Fever” into a lifelong flame.

Niobia Bryant is second up with “One Hot Summer,” which spins the tale of Nylah “Love” Lovely, owner of her own event planning business and professional athlete, Maleek Trenton. Their paths cross when Maleek hires Love to plan his end-of-summer celebration and the sexual sparks fly as soon as they meet. Love is recovering from a devastating divorce from her first husband, a popular R&B singer who was caught cheating and the outcome was played out in the media. Vowing never to be in a public relationship again, Love spurns Maleek’s initial advances. Maleek is relentless with his pursuit and convinces Love to throw caution to the wind. Love finally gives in but only on her own terms, they must remain private without media attention. When Love does allow their relationship to go public, she is soon full of regret and ends it when she begins receiving anonymous e-mails from a woman detailing Maleek’s every move. Maleek is hurt, but not deterred. Determined to spend the rest of his life with Love, he brings her the proof needed to clear his name and she accepts him back. One year later finds Love agreeing to leave her home to move to Denver with Maleek. This time, it’s only on Maleek’s terms. He wants to secure their future and is elated when Love accepts his very public marriage proposal.

Zuri Day completes the compilation with “Too Hot To Handle,” which introduces us to Choice “Chai” McKinley, daughter of a well-known architect and clandestine owner of her own clothing line and Trey Scott, Business Development Director at McKinley-Black, Choices’ father’s firm. The two meet by chance when an elevator malfunction on the hottest day of the summer finds them alone in the dark, completely turned on and naked. Their attempt at an anonymous romp is ended when the lights come on abruptly and they are brought back to their own realities. The next day they meet again when Choice arrives to her father’s office for his surprise birthday celebration and is introduced to Trey by his co-worker and her ex-boyfriend, Remington Black. What they thought was a one-time infatuation, turns into a full-blown attraction when their second meeting confirms the connection they felt in the elevator the night before. When Remington realizes that Trey is interested in Choice, he begins to work overtime for her attention since he has already been conspiring to make Choice his wife and he is also threatened by Trey’s position in the firm. As Trey and Choice become closer, an Internet search brings Remington the proof he needs to remove Trey from Choice’s life and the firm forever, or so he thinks. What he doesn’t bargain for is the fact that the proof is based on a case of mistaken identity and Trey has already taken the necessary steps to solidify his position at McKinley Black and his rightful place in Choice’s life—forever.

Heat Wave flows fluently and the sex scenes border on the edge of erotic, as the characters bring heat both in and outside of the bedroom. Each story is weaved masterfully and the characters are both believable and likeable. If romance is what you’re looking for, Heat Wave is definitely the answer.

Donna Hill

This story was ok to me a 3.5 star read. Even though I gave it 3.5 stars I still thought it was cute. Nina a regular school teacher in Brooklyn went to the Hamptons for her summer vacation. The house next to the summer house belonged to Ian, Ian is a successful business man who was immediately attracted to Nadia. In the beginning the little cat and mouse flirting game these two play was cute but got annoying after a while. It's realistic of course but annoying. Other than that the story flowed ok for me and I enjoyed getting to know both Nina and Ian. I thought the ending was cute as well when he showed up at her school.

Niobia Bryant

This was a 5 star read for me. This sorry was soooooooo cute. I love Maleek every time I read his name I think of Maleek from the tv show The Game. Love as her friends calls her, was in a high profile relationship and and divorce from her R&B ex that didn't go too well. She was public humiliate with his cheating and swore off dating high profile men. Maleek is a famous athlete and also had his heart broken and is ok with the single life until he meets Love. These two were sexy and steamy, I also love there back and forth conversation and their sexy intimacy was hot. Spoiler********As for Tashi *shaking my head* Like fat Joe says Jealous Ones Still Envy.

Zuri Day

This was a 4 star read for me. It was a nice read, the elevator scene was hot and steaming with Choice and Trey. Choice is the daughter of Charles McKinley a successful black own architect firm. Trey is working his way up the ladder in the company, he had know idea that Choice was Charles daughter. After these two start dating her comes Remington trying to block because he want Choice for himself. Remington's father also is part owner of the architect firm MB, so he feels threaten when Trey comes into the picture.

This was a good series for me and I enjoyed each story individually and what each author brought to the table. I love that each story took place in different areas of New York as well as dealing with the summer heat in New York. Very appropriate read for me as I'm in New York now in the summer heat lol, I need some of these story thrown my way. Reviewed by (Romance Novel Junkies Book Reviews) LIKE us on fb.

Some Like it Hot

Collectively the three stories that make up “Heat Wave” are enough to start a small fire. This is an amazing read and captures the reader from page one and keeps moving until the last page. All three authors are well established writers in the field of romance and bring to the table a well-thought-out plot that is able to captivate their audience. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance with the right amount of steam. This book is sure to satisfy.

In ‘Summer Fever’ by Donna Hill we are introduced to Nina Forbes, a NY City school teacher looking for a break from her life in the big city. She accepts her best friend’s offer to house sit for one of her clients in the Hamptons during the summer. Meeting sexy, Barbados born neighbor Ian Harrison is the icing on the cake for Nina and may just provide a bit of distraction for the summer. As Nina learns to come to grips with her growing love and the end of the summer, which will take her away from her island hunk, she wonders can her heart survive the distance.

‘One Hot Summer’ by Niobia Bryant takes us to the world of glitz and glamour and the pain that comes with living all of your relationship highs and lows in the spotlight. After being humiliated by her R&B singer husband, Simone Lovey vows to stay out of the spotlight and concentrate on her event planning business. All of that changes when she takes a job to assist a client’s athlete brother plan an end of summer bash. Maleek is determined to break through Simone’s hard exterior and show her that not all relationships in the spotlight end up as the next scandal splashed across the tabloid. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles that threaten to end their shot at happiness?

‘Too Hot to Handle’ by Zuri Day is the final story in this collection of hot and steamy stories. Getting stuck in an elevator with handsome stranger Trey Scott is not the way Choice McKinley thought she would end her 4th of July. A quick pit stop by her father's office turned into more than she could ever bargain for. When they learn that their worlds collide more than either of them dreamed, they struggle to make their relationship work. Cut throat corporate actions threaten to burst their happy bubble and forces Trey to deal with a past he had long forgotten about. Finding a way to make it all work could be more than either of them bargained for.

3 stars - Summer Fever
This story was ok.  You could tell Nina and Ian were in lust with each other but I didnt really feel the passion between them.  The love scenes were just so so, and the ending was just so sudden.  Ian comes to his senses 5weeks after they departed each other, proclaims his love and Nina reciprocates with no mention of love b4 the last page and a half of the book.  This was probably the weakest story of the three, I am guessing this is why it was first.

5 stars - One Hot Summer
I didn't want the story to end, and it really kept me guessing.  I didn't think Love would get with Maleek no matter how she felt because of what happens with her ex.  It seemed like she was really gun ho about not repeating the past.  That Maleek really wore her down though.  It's nothing like a romantic beefcake of a man wooing you to change your mind, and the super hot and steamy sex helps as well!  The total shocker was Tashi, that was totally unexpected twist to the story.  Overall the story was execellant, I wished it was longer! Ms. Bryant truly is a talented storyteller.

5 stars - To Hot To Handle
Super hot from the very begining.  Trey & Choice were stuck in a pitch black elevator and went for it.  They were hot and heavy and brought back to reality when the lights came on.  They of course had their obstacles especially a jealous ex who wanted Choice back, and would do whatever it took to get her back.  Trey and Choice had some steamy sex scenes, ion her studio against a wall, and later on the couch, and of course recreating their initial meeting abs getting it on in an elevator.  I haven't read a bad story from Zuri Day yet, and can't wait to read more.

3.5 Hoots for Summer Fever. It was a cute story. The characters seemed real and the story progressed at a good pace. The sex scenes were steamy and definitely felt real. The ending…not so much. The last chapter was very rushed and was too short. I would have liked to see more details.

One Hot Summer gets 3 Hoots. The suspense was the best part of the whole story. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Love and Maleek both come off as spoiled, it’s all about me, type people. I didn’t feel the love and connection with them. Tashi’s character was a good twist.

3.5 Hoots for Too Hot to Handle also. I thought the story itself was great. I liked the chemistry between Choice and Trey. What I didn’t like was the writing style. The point of view changed randomly anywhere and everywhere.

I also need to point out that this is my first African American read with the “Nigga” language. Both One Hot Summer and Too Hot to Handle had an overabundance of the dialog and it really takes away from the story. This is especially so with Trey in the last story. I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that a Harvard grad in a high end business would really talk like that. Overall I do not feel this book was a waste of my time, but it is not going on my reread list.
