Chan offers an intimate portrait of a new way of working and a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to find peace, satisfaction and fulfillment as an independent entrepreneur.
Good book, but unfortunately it leans more to the motivational/inspirational side than on the practical side. Nice tips to networking though. The book is a mix of his professional life and the 70 lessons. If you just want to know the lessons, skip to the end of book and you will find them as bullet points.
I enjoyed the book. It felt like it was talking to me. I learned many things from it. Recommended to anybody who has the urge to become self-employed and never work for someone else again.
An encouraging book for spare room entrepreneurs. I enjoyed reading about his philosophy of life and his attitude to work. It's more about making it work while being true to yourself rather than about making it big by following a get rich plan.
Quick book to read. Interesting ideas on the unique aspects of self-employment and working from your home. Most of the lessons apply if you are working for someone else, except the "six worries", which are unique to relying exclusively on yourself.
Better than a how-to, it's more of a "why-to." I had the pleasure of meeting and having dinner with James Chan, as well as hearing him do presentations to young people and older ones.
