Patterson, a consultant in private practice in Fort Worth, and Mehta (U. of Texas-Arlington) offer architects, engineers, contractors, roofing consultants, and facility managers knowledge about roofing design and practice to help reduce roof failures and resulting disputes. They cover various membranes, insulation, decks, drainage, fire, wind and hail, water vapor control, details at terminations and penetrations, steep roofing, and roof warranties. The dynamic duo Stephen Patterson and Madan Mehta are masters of contemporary roofing details. This is a highly necessary book. Sure roofs will leak, but thanks to this book it won't be out of ignorance or negligence.
