This author is a great storyteller. He manages to tell you a story, tap into the realities and hardships of today, and teach you something by the end of the book. Wonderful read.. Once again an author no one had mentioned, but the world of readers should know about. His books are color blind and color coordinated if you know what I mean. It's nice to not have a barrier sometimes.

This was not an easy book to read (mostly the beginning), and I put it down more than once, not sure if I could get through it. But I persevered, and I'm glad I did. Not only is Manny a character who really develops a LOT over the course of the story, but his experiences and the people he encounters along the way make the trip--and the story--unforgettable. Definitely worth reading!
