I thought I could hide forever, but fate had other plans.
I can’t remember what it feels like to be happy. I’m sure I felt it long ago, back when I thought I was in love. Great husband, great job, great life. Great big lie. At least, that is what my life has turned into now – a series of lies to hide the fact that I am not who I appear to be. The lies keep me hidden and safe… for now.
Surely, my ex-husband would never think to look for me in this sleepy little town. As I settle into my new life, I’m afraid it won’t be forever. Could I really give up my job and best friend to go back on the run? Then, I meet Hunter and my world flips upside down.
One night of passion is all I can offer, but he wants more. That’s the last thing I need, yet I find myself craving what I can’t have. I can’t deny this intense attraction that keeps pulling us together like a magnet, and he’s not going to take no for an answer.
My heart fills with hope, but it only takes a moment for it to shatter. I’m not the only one keeping secrets, and Hunter’s are even bigger than my own.
A single mistake is all it takes for me to put his life at risk, and sooner or later my web of lies is going to catch up to me. With everything spiraling out of control, I can only be sure of one thing… my life will never be the same.

I am an author currently based on the South Coast of England. I write sweet, fun, action-packed fantasy. My characters are clever, fearless, and adventurous but in real life, I spend all of my time curled up with a book in my hands, daydreaming. Let's face it. I wouldn't last five minutes in one of my books.
Running from her abusive ex Zoey finds herself captivated by Hunter and vice versa. Hunter a werewolf and apha is a delima, Zoey his mate is human and unaware werewolves even exist or the danger coming for her. Sexy, exciting and fun to read. First of the Redwood Valley Series.

It’s another one of these books where the author has no idea whether they’re writing in past or present tense and constantly switches between, seemingly at random. The comma usage is atrocious, and the typos are constant. Punctuation, apostrophes, homophones, capitalization—you name it, it’s all a mess.
The plot isn’t much better. The characters are morons who make appalling decisions, such as taking a first date out to the woods on the back of a motorcycle with no escape, having sex without a condom on the first date, and doing so at MMC’s parents’ house without even giving the FMC a heads up not to go downstairs in her underwear.
The MMC’s family is just as bad, going whole-hog on “HEY IT’S THE HUMAN MATE! You know all about mating right? That’s weird, no claiming bite! Could it be because she’s a human and y’all just met 2 days ago? Nah, jk, we are not the type to ask such stupid questions, we’ll set up the mating ceremony for next week, kbye!”
I shouldn’t have bothered reading to the end, but I did, and I promise you, it ain’t worth it.
The plot gave it three stars. Plus the characters were adorable together as well. However, I really had a problem with the structuring of the book. Every sentence was a new paragraph and there were a lot of grammatical issues with it as well which made it hard to follow sometimes. The dual POV was good but there is definitely room for improvement. The spice of the novel was ok. I wouldn’t say it was absolutely mind blowing. The punctuation made it hard to take seriously as well. Overall, the plot was great. The characters were easy to read about it. Also the tiny bit of angst that was elicited also added to the three stars.
The plot - This is a werewolf shifter novella (ish? It’s 138 pages). Fated mates, forced proximity, instalove, triggers so CHECK YA FUCKIN TRIGGERS PEOPLE. Smut was like 2/5 on the spice scale, fairly tame for a wolf shifter book. It’s also a HEA in a series of interconnected standalones.
The MC - I feel like we lost a lot of context for Zoey due to the length of this book. I actually didn’t like her much, and found her to be whiny and annoying. Not the worst FMC but not the best either.
The male counterpart - Hunter was an awkward one to love. It didn’t help the rapid change in his attitude constantly from hot to cold. I feel like if he was written more emotionally mature, we’d be fine.
Zoey has been in an abusive relationship and decides to get out. She later meets Hunter and he tells her that he's her mate. He's a werewolf though. She has to decide if she wants to risk getting in a relationship with him.
I really, really enjoyed this book. Hunter is a total heartthrob. Unfortunately I could relate to Zoey and that was heartbreaking. I'm so happy they got their HEA. I can't wait for the next book.

I'm not usually one to harp about typos. However, in this case I don't believe there was a page that did not have either a typo or switching from past tense to present tense. It was so distracting, it was so hard to stay in the book.
After years of being in an abusive relationship Zoey decides to run and why on the run she finds comfort in the small town that she is living in. You will find romance, werewolf shifters and of course fated mates. Great characters, but I do wish it was a little bit longer. I didn’t want it to end.
This story has a good plot, some spelling errors, but besides that it’s a quick easy read. I enjoyed the characters. I wish it was a little longer but overall good read
Maybe I am becoming jaded with books but though a quick read I found it okay. A lot of my books I have read recently have been like this.
She is drawn to him but doesn’t know about werewolves and sleeps with him on their first day. After that it gets all crazy and suddenly her ex shows up somehow finding her. Was any of it a surprise no.
Warning kindle version is in great need for an editor.
