The scents start out strong so be careful if you're sensitive but over time they fade, leaving you with just the pictures. Those are good depictions of the flowers and a nice introduction to various flowers.
I thought this book was great for small children. There are only a few words on each page, and the page is mostly a picture of something that you scratch and sniff. It's neat that they could make so many different smells come to life in a book and for small children to get an idea of what certain things smell like.
We had a whole collection of these DK Scratch and Sniff books when my daughter was a toddler, and she loved them all. Simple words, colorful photos, and great scents to scratch and sniff, which lasted a long time.
