The stories in this book offer a fair view of recent and not-so-recent life in Madison, Wisconsin, and include a tale about the man who got rich writing the Oscar Mayer wiener jingle, as well as one about a young hitchhiker who had decided to try to start her life over in Madison, but never made it to the city.
This is a fun read for anyone interested in the local history of Madison, Wisconsin. The book is composed of Doug Moe columns that were first published in the The Capital Times.
anyone not from Madison will find absolutely nothing of interest in this book. it's kinda like a bunch of columns from a public school newspaper, very provincial, very parochial
from my rating you can infer I am not from Madison
