Mark S. Harris currently resides in Texas, where he is a sixth generation Texan from Kaufman County. He coached in Texas for over thirty years for football, girls' basketball, and boys' basketball. He is also a retired United States History teacher. His story's main character Cotton is based on a number of coaches that he has encountered in his real life.

Mr Harris is a local author and will be joining us for discussion of his book at our monthly book club time at our library. I enjoy reading stories set in our hometown and I love knowing about other towns around. I loved the heart of this book. I loved the characters. I am told they are based on real people. I would love to meet some of them!!

I couldn’t put this book down! Not because it was about places in and around Kaufman but because it taught a lesson about how to work together to achieve something that would make a change in the lives of a lot of people!!!
