Nia Feeling like I had no other options, I made a deal with the devil. Family is the most important thing, right? Along the way, I met Enzo Renzetti and my heart knew I should stay away from him. He was gorgeous, dark, but most importantly dangerous. After one night of passion that would change my life forever, I ran, but fate has a funny way of coming full circle. I’m back in Strathmore and I know it’s inevitable we’ll cross paths again. Enzo My destiny was always to take over my father’s criminal empire. I didn’t have time for love, especially after being burned once. Nia Mason was everything that I wanted in a gorgeous, determined, and quick-witted with a smart mouth, but after she vanished I swore off relationships. Years later, she’s reappeared and I haven’t decided if I want to destroy her or claim her for myself.

Celeste Night detests writing in third person , so….
I am a romance author living somewhere outside of Birmingham, AL with my husband, two children, two dogs, three cats, and a partridge in a pear tree. I studied psychology in undergrad and thought I was going to be a therapist. Even when I was young, I would weave crazy stories and as I grew older dabbled in fan fiction. I never imagined that I would write a novel, much less publish it, so the journey has been amazing!
My relationship with the infamous Mr. Night was ripped straight out of the pages of a book (complete with angst and drama) and one day I might fictionalize that. I love morally gray (sometimes morally black) men and memes. When I’m not plotting imaginary murders or dreaming up my next favorite book boyfriend, I enjoy reading and playing video games (looking at you Stardew Valley). My favorite holiday is Halloween and my favorite color is black. I love possums because I also wake up screaming each morning.

Ties That Bind is the first book I’ve read by Celeste & I definitely enjoyed it.
After briefly seeing each other, Nia found out she was pregnant & left town, ghosting Enzo. When her mom falls ill she’s called home, & knows it’s only a matter of time before Enzo learns of his son.
Enzo was just absolutely perfect, he was patient, loving, protective & did everything to make Nia happy. She was fiercely independent, didn’t want to rely on anyone for anything, but Enzo was determined to make her see she could rely on him. And when unexpected events happened, he proved he would be there for her.
I loved Liam, how he was always willing to step in & help w/Eli. I kinda would’ve loved to have gotten an update on Evie. Hopefully there’ll be a story w/them, I’d love to see them together. This was a really great read & the epilogue was excellent!

I got to read ARC read this beauty and what can I say, I absolutely loved it!!!

Celeste writes morally grey men, which just happens to be my favorite color.
Enzo... Enzo... Enzo... is now my new bad boy boyfriend. The way he talks to, spoils, and teats Nia is every girls dream. HELL, the man brings her coffee in the morning when she gets off night shift at the hospital just so he can see her before his day gets crazy. He would do anything for her and their child all she has to do is ask.

This book does touch on some dark themes so check the trigger warnings before you read.

A secret baby and the mob ? Loved it. It shows love can transcend years and bring people back together. This story was not typical mafia romance but held that same air. The FMC was strong and stubborn and the MMC made sure one he had her back - he wasn’t letting go.

Great book to start out 2023. It’s a short read (250 ish pages). Took about 3.5 hrs to read. So you can start and finish in one day of time allows.

Overall this book was good read. I really enjoyed it. It has spice, but again being that it’s a shorter novel it’s not overly spicy. It has just enough to make it interesting.

We have Nia and Enzo. They had a relationship but things happened and Nia disappeared. Now she’s back. And these two have some unfinished business and a big secret Nia’s been keeping that is coming out. This book kept me guessing and had my attention. I would like more of course! But I did appreciate that once the story ended, we got glimpses of what happened as the years went by. I really felt you got a HEA and then some with this.

Trigger warnings. Enzo is tied to a mafia organization. So make sure you check those out. Not heavy overall. Meaning not every page is full of triggers. Just a few here and there.

I def recommend this book! Happy Reading Ya’ll 🖤

Mia leaves town, afraid of raising their baby in Enzo's mafia lifestyle, moving to a larger town and working as a doctor. She returns to care for her ailing mother. But Enzo has always been crazy about her. This is a second-chance, secret baby love story.

Dual, first person, and medium pace, this book read like many I've encountered in the past. The plot line lent nothing necessarily inventive that drew me in. Mia was prickly, head strong and Enzo, enamored. I found that it did not hold my interest.

A second chance romance you will not want to miss. Celeste night might be a new author…But her book doesn’t read as that. Her fourth book to be published Celeste new book “Ties That Bind” takes place in the same world as her first series entitled “Promises”. I have not read those yet and you do not need to to read Ties. I will be going back immediately to read these. Celeste has now made me invested into this world and I cannot wait to read Promises and her other books she realeases over time. She will now be one of my new favorite Authors! Also Enzo is🥵

Ties That Bind by new to me author Celeste Night is a Romantic Suspense Standalone set in the Strathmore Universe.
This Second Chance Romance follows the story of Nia Mason and Enzo Renzetti through the telling of their dual POVs.

When it came to the narrative there was definitely a lot going on, considering everything that occurs and takes place throughout. Whether it was in the forefront or the background from the many subplots, some of which involved the secondary characters, it kept the story moving along onwards.

The main plot revolved around Nia, a single mother, working as a doctor, who is running herself ragged trying to pay the bills and take care of her child and family.
And Enzo, the heir to a criminal empire, who is working his way up to taking over one day.

With a chance encounter between the two, their story has it leading to a drama filled chaotic journey. Filled with lots of suspenseful moments, seeing all that Nia and Enzo are having to deal, considering some secrets that are being kept.
Whilst attempting at a second chance, at least on Enzo’s part. Since Nia is hesitant given the life he leads, which has her scared for her child’s life.

It was an enjoyable story overall, however it wasn’t without any issues for me.
The beginning did take me awhile to get into it, some of the paragraphs felt a little choppy, leaving a sort of disconnect from having no seamless flow that could have connected it together more smoothly IMO.
But with that said, after the half way mark it did manage to pull me right in, swiftly moving along as the narrative progressed.
There was also the case of some questions being left unanswered, which left me unsatisfied by that, having hoped the loose ends would’ve been wrapped up once and for all by the end.

For Ties That Bind being my first read by author Celeste Night, she still managed to do a good job. Having still liked it overall, even with my issues.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️.5/5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5
MFC: Nia was frustrating and a little too stubborn.
MMC(s): Enzo was a lost puppy, not a mafia man.
Plot: 2/5
Book cover: 3/5
Would I buy a physical copy?: Nah.

Sooooo, nothing really happens? I went into this thinking we’d get some serious mafia vibes, a kidnapping or two, etc. But nope. Enzo was a practically a lap dog in the ‘mafia’ world. Sure, he took out some guys but nothing wild. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nia was frustrating. Granted, she has a bit of shit going on but come on, how are you going to let your entire life and your SONS life be confined to other people?? At first, I totally understood the whole ‘keep my son safe’ because of this supposedly being mafia, but then when it was clearly obvious that there wasn’t a true threat and literally no one cared about her being pregnant? I rolled my eyes every time it was mentioned. The only truly ‘dark’ thing in this book was her sister missing and OD’ing on heroin. Which, the little sister was a complete bitch and didn’t deserve Liam whatsoever.

Liam was the bright spot in this whole book. He took better care of Eli than anyone else in the book and he wasn’t even his 😂😂

Ties That Bind by Celeste Night is a Second Chance, hidden child, mafia-isk romance. I’ve read other books by this author so I knew I was going to be a fan of this one as well. Well boy was I right, I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down, I read it in a few hours. I was hooked almost immediately. This was written so well with a great plot and amazing descriptions; it was so easy to feel what the characters were feeling. Speaking of said characters, I really enjoyed reading Nia Ian’s Enzo’s story. She was strong yet stubborn; her character was so relatable. He was just a perfect morally gray man. Their character development was so good! I ate this story up! It was sweet yet spicy and had everything I could have wanted out of this standalone. I loved how things came to a head. But have no fears there is a happily ever after! This is a perfect book if you like reads that are a bit dark with some spicy good times. Plus Enzo is just a chef’s kiss of a character. Also have you seen the cover! It’s so pretty!!! I can’t recommend Celeste Night enough… all the books I’ve read by this author are fabulous.

This takes place in the same world as Promise of Embers and around the same time. It is a stand-alone novel. You do not need to read the trilogy in order to understand what happens in this book.
We follow Nia and Enzo, two people who have a complicated past and come back together. This novel is pretty heartfelt with everything going on in Nia's life and how sweet Enzo is to Nia, despite everything that happened in the past. I really enjoyed the story of Nia and Enzo.
The novel does leave some unanswered questions of things that were kind of important to the story but secondary importance. Like, what was the conclusion with Donovan? This seemed pretty important to the story and was just left unresolved essentially, which to me needed to be resolved completely. Can't go into much more without spoilers.
I would say this is a mafia romance, and it is probably about a 4 out of 5 on the spice scale for me. I really did enjoy the story overall, there us just the one plot hole that is bothering me, which is why this is a 4 star read for me.

Nia, is an emergency room physician, who is juggling not only her career, but single parenthood, and she cares her ailing mother. Yet this isn't the way she pictured her life turning out. She once dreamed of love. She had love once, with Enzo. The man she can't seem to forget, her son's father. When Enzo comes across Nia, in the ER he vows he isn't going to let her escape like she did all the years ago. He is determined to find out why she ran. His heart still yearns for her, his body still craves her. Will these two long lost loves be able to mend what once was broken?

This was a sweet, spicy story of two long lost loves, who finally reconnect after several years of separation. As well as one big secret Nia kept from Enzo. There could have been some more in depth character development I feel like, that would have made the story so much stronger. Overall the story and plot, were good, and it had just a hint of spice.

I was so ecstatic when Celeste announced that this story took us back to Strathmore to hear Nia’s story. After having finished the Promises series, I did not know what to expect next. Nia and Enzo getting a second chance at love was the a delicious piece of cake. Really is an absolutely amazing story. Celeste did not disappoint at all.

The mob and a secret baby...umm yes please. This story showed that no matter what true love can best all odds and transcend across years to being people back together.

This was your not so typical mafia romance, but it had the same feel throughout. Nia was a strong willed and stubborn woman, while Enzo was always covering her six and was never letting her go again.

Loved this story. Enjoyed the side character stories. Hope we get more of Liam and Evie. I cannot wait for the next book to what story we get next. Highly recommend.

If you liked the Promises series you love Enzo and Nia's story in Ties that Bind. We get to see a glimpse further into the streets and the dark, gritty world of Strathmore. Nia and Enzo's story is so emotional and tests the heart and soul like nothing Celeste has written so far. While this is a second chance, hidden baby trope it is not your typical setup. I'm usually not a fan of "second chance" but in this story it's not the usual reasons. The story was so well written and flowed easly that i couldnt put it down. I connected with Nia and her desire to take care of and protect the people she loved, at just about any cost. Of course it wouldn’t be Strathmore with out an alphahole, and Enzo is a delicious snack you'll love to hate, until you dont. If you like lost love found you'll love this book. Highly recommend!

I love Celeste and her books. This isn't the first one of her books that I have read. I love that mafia vibe.
I fell in love with Enzo and Nia, the other side characters too. I need more. This book is a mafia, enemies to lovers kind of book.
Nia has a heart of gold but when things go hard she ran away from certain situations. Fate ended up causing Nia and Enzo to cross paths again, after years apart.
Enzo closed his heart off after he was burned by Nia. She ran away and he never knew why. She had been the only one that he really opened his heart up too at that point. Now that she's back, will he give her a chance to explain? With his line of work, will he survive to possibly see a happy ending. You definitely need to read this one to find out.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Celeste does a phenomenal job with this story. The world building, characters, supporting character, plot and just everything.

Nia is strong, stubborn, and selfless. She’s a hard working single mom till Enzo sees her.

Enzo is the son of the mafia boss. He’s obsessive, possessive, and always gets what he wants.

They had a connection, till something happened to Nia and she ran. She’s back and has been spotted by Enzo. Now he will stop at nothing to get her back and take what she kept from him.

Dark mafia romance, second chance, praise, degradation, breeding kink 🖤🖤

I am a sucker for a secret baby romance.. and that’s exactly what we have here. Plus a possessive man who happens to be in the mob! What more could I need?

Nia and Enzo have a whirlwind romance that ended too quickly out of fear.
I loved watching them come back together after the few years they spent apart. I do wish they would have had a little more difficulty starting the relationship again? Drama.. angst! But I’m a sucker for a happy ending.
And the way Enzo showed he cared for not only Nia but their child was swoon worthy.

The writing, as always, was wonderful! The story has depth, yet it’s fast paced.
Enzo is hot hot hot.

Read it!!

another stunning story!

Yet another incredible Strathmore tale! Getting to hear Nia and Enzo’s tale was heartwarming and spicy! I adore how they interacted with each other. From the way they butt heads to the soft adoration they carry. Adding Eli to the mix gave them a dynamic all of us moms dream of!

Another highlight to this story was Evie’s tale. Having a younger sister who also struggled with addiction, this part especially stuck home for me. It was easy to relate to Nia as she experienced the fear and regrets revolving around what Evie experienced.

I look forward to seeing more stories told by this author in the future!

Thank you soo much Celeste for this wonderful book!!! Ties that Bind is fantastic from start to finish! I’ve been dealing with a lot of personal things lately and this was just the push I needed to get back into reading. I couldn’t put it down 🖤 Now I need to go back and read the Promises series lol Nia is such a strong female character and your typical oldest child handling everything. Enzo is perfect for her ♥️ They balance each other out…. And his quote about the ocean towards the end…. I cried… Never have I read or heard someone explain my pull to the ocean more perfectly and had never heard it before. Thank you again!!!

I love Celeste and her writing so I knew I would love this book and freaking Enzo!?!? I am in love!!! I couldn't put my Kindle down until I finished and goodness gracious I still can't stop thinking about this book!!!

Nia is back in Strathmore, with her son Eli and knows it's only a matter of time before his dad finds out about him. And when Enzo figures it out, he will do whatever it takes to get his family.

This book is amazing! You guys have to read it!!

This was a fairly quick mafia romance read. Unlike the typical mafia MMC, Enzo wasn’t really that dark. He treats Nia with nothing but love and respect. She chooses to be with him with full knowledge of the risk. I liked that she was a strong character as wasn’t the damsel in distress as is typical with other mafia stories. I would give this a 3-4 on the 🌶 scale and it is all pretty vanilla. This is a standalone story but I am definitely going to go back and read the other books in the Strathmore universe.

This is my first book from Celeste Night and I received a free copy for an honest review.

Nia and Enzo's story is about love, loss, and growth. Nia's super independent and strong-headed and holds the world on her shoulders. She relies on herself to make sure her son is taken care of and pushes Enzo's buttons to no end. Enzo is hard-headed too and wants to lash out when he's not getting the answers that he wants, but ultimately learns to adjust his mentality and to think things through. They balance one another out in all the right ways.

Celeste Night did it again. This books was absolutely go good and seriously worth the read. This book is a second chance romance with a secret baby and the Mafia added in. It was so good I literally couldn't put it down once I started reading it. It will hold your attention from beginning until the end with all the twists and turns. Nia and Enzo's chemistry is so freaking hot. I really enjoyed seeing characters from the other books of the author that I've read. After loving the Promise of Embers, I knew that I wanted to read this story and I was so glad I did! I love that we got a standalone, and even if you didn't read the previous trilogy, you won't be lost.

Enzo, oh man he is something! There's so much between him and Nia and we see some darker themes in this book. He's got a soft spot for her, who wouldn't love someone to bring them coffee after working a night shift?! And just so he can see her, UGHHH.

I loved the second chance romance, usually, it can feel forced but within this world, it worked! Celeste did an amazing job!

This is my first read by this author and what a ride it was. This is a second chance, hidden child, and mafia adjacent story about an FMC who believes it better to run from her man for the safety of her child due to the life the MMC has to lead. It was such a fast, dare I say cute read? It is a little dark, but not too much so but the MMC and his mouth..I just cannot do him any justice in a good reads review. If you love your stories with a touch of dark with a dirty talking hottie of a man and a good plot you will definitely enjoy this story.

Nina (FMC) is a single mama, er physician & taking care of her Mom who is ill. Enzo (MMC) is the heir of a mafia empire that he is up to take over.
Enzo and Nina have some unfinished business from the past - so you will have to read this one to go on their journey!
The book has plenty of angst, steam, suspense and a good storyline.
I was gifted this book by the author in a book group and was so excited to receive it. It was my first read by Celeste and will for sure not be the last. I look
Forward to going on more adventures with her.

I read this book as a standalone, not reading any others in the universe written by the author. Basically it's about this girl who gets knocked up by a dude and bails without telling him and then has to face it (and him) when she comes back to town. It's a very convenient and easy story and even though it's convenient and easy, I enjoyed this rendition of it. It was engaging and quick and thoughtful, and even though it didn't have a ton of depth, it was well written. I liked the characters enough, although it wasn't as dramatic as the blurb made it out to be, I liked it.
