I read this book on my Library app alongside fiction books. I did think it was really informative, and I enjoyed the way that Lisa Snowden had written about her personal journey from childhood to adulthood. It’s one I will recommend to a lot of women for frank and honest advice.
Reading this felt like sitting and having a good old chat with a good friend.
Lisa is so open in this book detailing her personal struggles with perimenopause and menopause and so much more. So much of her story resonated with me and helped me feel that I am not the only one that felt/feel like that.
Full of tips and information I wish this book had been around when I first started my menopause journey.
We really are only Just Getting Started and the best is still to come.
Nothing new here, but I appreciate another person’s honest personal story more than their general advice. Lisa, who I have always liked very much, is very open and honest and reassuring. And for that, 4 stars.
This is a brilliant read, part memoir of Lisa Snowdon's kwn experiences with older life such as fertility, perimenopause, hormones, mood etc but also backed up with specialist guest features and studies. This makes it such a relatable and in-touch guide for any person who wants to understand this next stage of life and what can be experienced, and what can help.
I absolutely loved the honesty here. As I am premenopausal at 44 it opens up issues I haven't even thought of but if I do experience these I'll know I'm not alone in this xxx
This extract from right at the beginning of Lisa’s book is exactly how I’m going to be looking at my Menopause from now on. I was so fortunate to be able to meet the lovely Lisa at a Menopause Event a few weeks ago, and see hoe truly inspirational (and just gorgeous!) she is. Through Lisa’s book I have learnt so much about how I want to focus myself during my ‘Second Spring’. I was so unfortunate to start my menopause prematurely, I was post-menopause at the age of 23. But I’m certainly not going to let that control me anymore. I am proud of how far I’ve come in 11 years. I am proud of how I have overcome the devastating news that I am no longer fertile. I am so grateful for the opportunities my premature menopause has actually opened up for me, that I never would have even considered.
I decided this rainy morning was the perfect day to take myself off for my go to caramel hot chocolate and finish reading this amazing book at my local Costa. Then I bundled myself back up, out into the autumnal wet weather, and found conkers! Self care certainly isn’t selfish.
I liked the way Lisa told her story and experience and bought in experts on the audio book it was good to hear all the different people speak and her conversation with George.
Great book - felt like Lisa was talking to about me in this. Its nice to know we are not alone going through our menopausal journey. I loved the candidness of this book, and the way in which she talks about her experiences too. Each of us go through this differently- but I took comfort in this book
