a lucky number 13th book for the year, given to me by my brother for Xmas :) of the 96 facts there were maybe 8 that I didn't know, mostly about her early life, the one that stood out to me the most was taylor was just 12 years old when she sang the national anthem at an NBA finals game to 20,000 ppl. A few things I could nitpick for sure but I appreciated the way the book handled discussion of her personal life (ie keeping it personal) among a wide look at her career. but it still completely missed the taylor's versions for some reason. full disclosure that I did not use the bonus journalling pages tho the questions did appear somewhat thoughtful lol. Happy new year to everyone reading this :)
Like, Taylor Swift wrote “Monster In My Closet” when she was in 4th grade and the options were Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. I own this, and it was a TOTAL waste of money. Thanks for reading this though.

“Bonus journal pages for writing” are really just pages to answer writing prompts. Not for free journaling
The layout was interesting. There were info pages, a couple fun facts, quizzes, and journal pages. however, when something is marketed as a fact book, i almost expect it to be like how old joke books were. One after the other. No frills. Right to the point
I was sad to see that not all of the albums were touched on. Depending when this was written, Midnights may not have been announced yet. However, 1989 was barely referenced. Most of this was just facts about her brother, her debut album, and Gigi Hadid. Why couldn’t there have been facts about the donations and charity work she has done, who her relationships were with (because that IS trivia), or her friendships with others besides Gigi Hadid and Ed Sheeran
- Picked off praying mantis pods from the trees before they were sold as part of her chores - Parents gave her a gender neutral name to avoid gender bias in the future - I like the alternating of part of her biography with facts - Quizzes seemed like they gave an obvious answer instead of actual choices - Austin is an actor and movie manager - Won a karaoke contest and prize was to be an opening act - RCA wanted Taylor in a development deal until she was 18. So let the deal - Tim McGraw song referred to is “Can’t tell me nothing” - Reputation was meant to show she is aware of how she is perceived and to change that - Donated to numerous charity for a variety of reasons. No one ever talks about that. It’s always just the relationships - Taylor wants her shows to feel like people got their money’s worth - In 2022, it was announced taylor signed a deal to write and direct a film???

I absolutely loved it. I learnt so many things about Taylor and I couldn’t believe some of them. It is just amazing. And I also love how there are quizzes in there for you to do and I love that it is an interactive journal. I wish there were more about Taylor but unfortunately there are not. I recommend this book to Swifties.

Too many inaccuracies and missing information. A cute introduction to TS for very young readers, but there's so much more that should have been included in place of the journal questions. Very juvenile language. Time lines were confusingly jumbled throughout the book. Entire albums never mentioned. A lot of her achievements were trivialised. I was shocked to see an adult wrote this.
So much fun to read with my 8yo, as she completed all of the exercises, answered some of the writing prompts, and we watched a bunch of YouTube content together to see what was referenced in the book.
Short read! Depending on how much you love Taylor Swift, you may not learn a whole lot. I love that it really focuses on her career and not her personal life. The quizzes and journaling is also fun!
Finished the book to beef up my yearly reading goal. The books ends right before the Midnights and eras tour. Author was obsessed with mentioning Gigi Hadid. Super cute and informative.
