Did Not Finish

Just another rich man taking advantage of his privilege and wanting to climb Everest “because he can,” but trying to make it seem like it was enlightenment. Hearing about how his relationship fell apart due to this obsession was just.. not it.

Very detailed start to finish telling of the planning and execution of author's third attempt to summit. So detailed it's both good and bad : good - vivid description of how terrifying this climb and descent is, I quit now! Lol And bad - author gives way too much personal information. I hated the nonsense of his pitiful relationship and the mess he made of his friendship. For a dude who is high on being a "high achiever" his self esteem is awfully weak.

This is a good book if you are at all interested in Mt. Everest. The author is a little full of himself, and his claim of reaching the summitt is disputed...but I felt out of breath when reading it like I was climbing with him.

This is the best inspirational book I have ever read. Highly recommended. It moved me to tears a number of times and provided me conviction to aim at higher goals in my life.

A very intimate blend of east and west and full of camradarie. It is to be experienced not described.
