Being a fan of the ongoing Ookami-Heika title by the same author, I felt the need to check out some of their other works to see if I'd like them as well. Unfortunately, Himitsu lacks much of the charm and humor that makes me love Ookami-Heika. It's a charming distraction, but I often fond myself going through the motions of reading through each chapter simply for the sake of finishing what I started. It's not the worst shoujo series I've come across, but it's painfully middle of the road with hardly anything that hasn't been done better in other series. While I can't say her other series, Ookami-Heika is a paragon of story-telling either, it at least has charming characters that keep me coming back in spite of it's episodic nature. If you had to pick just one series by this author to read, I'd go with that one instead - unless you dislike ongoing series.

Very cute, but an air headed princess and gruff prince are character types that I've already read about. The attraction seemed too fast pace since it didn't seem like they fell in love at first-sight. I liked how there were false rumors about both princess and prince, since it gave a way to make them fall in love with each others true selves.
