முதல் பக்கத்திலிருந்து கடைசிப் பக்கம் வரை ஒரே மூச்சில் படித்து முடித்துவிடுகிற சுவாரசிய எழுத்துநடை. உலக அளவில் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த கொலை வழக்கின் விசாரணை, எப்படித் துவங்கியது என்பதிலிருந்து குற்றம் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டது வரை, ஒரு த்ரில்லர் படம் பார்த்த சில்லிட்ட உணர்வு எழுவது நிச்சயம்.

காவல்துறையின் அலட்சியப்போக்கு, மேலிட உத்தரவுகளின் தாமதம், அதிகாரம் பெற்றவர்கள் பலர் விசாரணைக்கு உட்படுத்தாதது, விசாரணையில் நேர்ந்த தடங்கல்கள், இந்திய உளவுத்துறையை விடவும் சிவராசனின் தகவல் தொடர்பு எந்த அளவுக்குத் துல்லியமானதாக இருந்தது போன்ற விஷயங்களை ஒளிவுமறைவில்லாமல் புத்தகம் அலசுகிறது. ஆனால்...

குற்றவாளிகள் பட்டியலில் பேரறிவாளன் பெயர் எப்படி சேர்க்கப்பட்டது, கொலைக்குப் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட வெடிகுண்டின் பின்னணி போன்றவை பற்றிய மேலோட்டமான தகவல் கூட இல்லை. சமீபத்திய பேட்டிகளில் இவை பற்றி தனது கருத்துகளைத் தெரிவித்து வருகிறார் என்றாலும், புத்தகத்திலும் சேர்க்கப்பட்டிருக்கலாம்.

This gives a clear picture about the real efficiency of our CBI officers and also depicted how pathetic our security system was.No one can challenge intelligence of Indians easily.

Not something that I would recommend if you want a detailed unbiased look at the investigation.

When Ragothaman a CBI officer boarded the train from Bangalore to Chennai he thought he would be awoken from his sleep by the usual hustle and bustle of the station or atleast by the cleaning staff who regularly clean the coaches before the next journey but when none this happened he got down from the train and was greeted by a central station devoid of people the reason India's ex prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated the day before on may 21st 1991 and Ragothaman who at that time doesn't know that he is going to lead this investigation.
The book has very promising start but quickly devolves as it's not told in a linear fashion and a lot the details are missing I mean we don't even get to hear the arrest of Perarivalan aka Arivu. But it does make up for this with actual evidence in the form of letters between LTTE carders and it does have some wealth of information on the actual investigation it could have been structured better.

இராஜீவ் கொலை வழக்கு என்பது சரித்திரம் அதற்குப் முன்பும் அதற்குப் பின்பும் கண்டு இராத ஒன்று. ரகோத்தமன் என்னும் புலனாய்வு அதிகாரியின் கண்ணோட்டத்தில் இருந்து எழுதப்பட்ட ஆராய்ச்சி நூல் தான் இது.இப்புத்தகம் முழுவதும் ஒரே மூச்சில் படித்து முடிக்கக்கூடிய அளவிற்கு மிகவும் சுவாரசியமான எழுத்து நடை. ஒன்றும் இல்லாத தகவல்களுடன் தொடங்கி கொலையின் பின்னணி, கொலைக்கு தொடர்புடைய நபர்கள் வரை விறுவிறுப்பாக செய்திகளை அடுக்கி உள்ளார்.

ராஜீவ் காந்தியை கொல்வதற்காக சதி திட்டம் தீட்டிய விதம்,காவல்துறையின் அலட்சியப்போக்கு,அதிகாரம் படைத்தவர்களை விசாரணைக்கு உட்படுத்தாது,தடயங்களை அணுகிய முறை போன்ற சம்பவங்களை ஒளிவு மறைவு இல்லாமல் விவரித்துள்ளார்.

வெடிகுண்டியின் பிண்ணணி, பேரறிவாளன் பெயர் சேர்க்க பட்ட விதம் பற்றிய தகவல்கள் இடம்பெறாமல் இருப்பது இப்புத்தகத்தில் உள்ள முரண்பாடு. சில முரண்பாடுகள் இருப்பினும் இந்நூாலை வாசித்து முடிக்கும் பொழுது ஒரு திரில்லர் படம் பார்த்த உணர்வை நிச்சயம் நம்முள் ஏற்படுத்தும்.

உலக சரித்திரத்தில் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்திய ஒரு கொலை பற்றிய முக்கியமான ஆவணம். இராஜீவ் கொலை வழக்கை பற்றி அதிகம் தெரிந்து கொள்ள நினைப்பவர்கள் படிக்க வேண்டிய ஒரு நல்ல புத்தகம்.

Important book about Rajiv case as it was written by the chief investigative officer itself. He also touches the fact about political involvement but not in detail. On thing i feel missing in this book is how Perarivalan involved in this case is missing, he is mentioned in some placed but not briefly. Over all one of the important book regarding this case. Anyone wants to read about Rajiv Gandhi's murder case this is where they should start.

முதல் பக்கம் படிக்கக ஆரம்பித்ததும் , முழு புத்தகத்தையும் படித்து முடித்துவிட தோன்றும். இந்திய காவல் துறை, உளவு துறைகளின் அலட்சியம்தான் காரணம் என்று தெரிந்து மனம் கணக்கும். எந்த புள்ளியில் ஆரம்பிப்பது என்று தெரியாமல் சில மாத வழக்கை விசாரித்து முடித்த அந்த திறமை ஆச்சரியமூட்டும். ஒரே ஒரு ஏமாற்றம், பேரறிவாளன் எப்படி வழக்கினுள் வந்தார் என்று ஒரு தகவலும் இல்லை, ஏன் அவர் பெயரே கூட எங்கும் இல்லை (கடைசி போட்டோ தவிர). அனால் கண்டிப்பாக படிக்க வேண்டிய புத்தகம்.

Thrilling Investigation

This book talks about how CBI started the investigation and obstacles they faced.It is interesting READ. Even though read most of this case detail through newspaper. But this book talks from retired CBI investigator point of view. I would recommend those who want to know more about the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case investigation.

Gives a clear picture of the investigation of most mysterious case. But, it would be nice if the author has added the findings of Jain and Varma commission; What are the unanswered questions yet?
The author has easily questioned the suspensions against the state politicians but did not raise or questions the activities of central ministers/politicians.

Very nicely narrated.

One of the biggest disaster which happened in tamilnadu, the book has covered the entire enquiry and the way it is narrated is excellent. Very informative book , it covers all the events surrounding the tragedy. Great job by the writer, he also conveys the problem faced because of some political pressure. Overall a book similar to a crime novel.

Great read

Very good read in explaining the incident and the author tried his best not to take any political stance or not getting into whether what happened was right or wrong. He does gives what's the difference between how LTTE works and how Indian system works.

That was a tragic night on May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur, whole india was shocked to know what was happened, it was Sivarasan's master plan who was a key member of LTTE, Thanu, the suicide bomber bombed RAJIV GANDHI - ex PM of India.

This Book "Rajiv Kolai Vazhaku" written by Retired CBI "K. Ragothaman", none other than Chief Investigation Officer of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

It will definitely not going to be a easy read, full of twists, number of political plays during the investigation, there are lot of questions, answers, hidden mysteries in the answers are key takeaways of this book.

A must read for people who loves Investigation thrillers, once started reading it is tough to keep the book before completing it.

A book on Rajiv's assassination, by a retired CBI officer, who actually was the head of investigation of the case. Although the writer's style isn't great, he is genuine throughout the book. A must read for people who share posts like "If you think RAW is weak compared to CIA or MOSSAD, you should read about these 8 operations of RAW". RAW sucks big time. The author doesn't try to say RAW doesn't have intelligent people. But as an organization, like any other govt institution in India, it seems to be very lethargic and irresponsible.

Not very engaging but a worthy read if you are a Tamil reader and keen to know the details of case.

Being a chief investigator of this assassination the author clearly narrates how LTTE planned the assassination with minimum resource and how this case is investigated. Some of the news is really shocking and clearly depicts how lame our nations security is. Mostly author praise about the intelligence of LTTE and groans about the intrusion of politicians and what the limitation the investigators will have while handling this type of case. It is like a perfect crime novel.

Excellent narration style which gives no clue in each and every page.

Can gain lot information about the Rajeev case about how the culprits has been caught, since the author is one of the officer among the CBI team who travelled with this case.

A Must read.
