Did this work? I know that was one of the questions in my mind when I first started researching whether or not to buy this book. The immediate results suggest "yes". I'm a 5'2" tall female who has been very (VERY) guilty of the SAD (Standard American Diet) and not being as dedicated as I could be about exercise. At the onset, I had about 10 pounds which my doctor recommended losing to get back within an acceptable BMI and another 5-10 pounds of "vanity" weight I'd like to lose (the idea of which was supported by the doctor).

I lost 8 pounds and 6.75" (3 from waist, 2.25 from chest and 1.5 from hips). My partner lost 14 pounds but he didn't do any measurements. I followed the book to the letter as far as menus and recipes were concerned and also went to 60-90 minutes of hot yoga classes each day.

If it's not clear from the title and publisher's description, this is indeed all juice for the entire week. You will not be using your teeth. And no: coffee and alcohol aren't part of this liquid regime. You'll have up to 6 juices a day for the 7 days of the programme. We had been juicing breakfast for about a month prior to beginning this, so our palates may have been more prepared for the tastes of wheatgrass, spirulina, broccoli, kale, etc. That said, most juices have an apple or pineapple base which takes the edge off of the vegetable flavors which some might find bitter. Many of the juices are blended with avocado or yogurt, so you're getting a ton of fresh nutrients and a bit of healthy fat as well.

The grocer was curious if I was hosting a party or catering an event given the amount of produce required. I spent about $180US getting what we needed. This isn't radically more than our normal grocery bill. It's a bargain if you also consider that in addition to our groceries each week, we would also typically have lunches out (normally about $60-80 between us), pizza delivery one night ($20) and weekend nights out ($100 or more).

During the week, I didn't find myself "starving". I also had almost all of the juices each day, although towards the end of the week there were one or two that I didn't feel hungry for. I had one day where I was very hungry, but that was following a day where I had completed a 5k, completed 90 minutes hot yoga and didn't have all of the juices. Lesson learned? Fuel your body.

What I liked about the book and the programme is that Jason Vale is very up front about the fact that if you go back to your old ways, you will most certainly regain weight but also notes that all juice all the time certainly isn't the long-term answer either. He encourages reading the entire book start to finish so that you are prepared and I would agreed with this advice. He provides suggestions for coming off the programme and some sample menus of what that might look like. I did buy "Turbo Charge Your Life" and have begun that program. I didn't buy the CDs, charts, etc. that are available.

I wanted something that would help me transition back to more "real food" and away from the junk. Losing the weight I did has energized me to keep pursuing a healthier lifestyle; this week I'm adding in a morning walk along with the hot yoga in the evenings, we're continuing with juicing breakfast and we're having salads, fish and lots of veggies. Best of all, I don't feel deprived with the food this week. If that's what you're looking for, this is a good programme.

If you're looking for a book of juice recipes, this may not be it. The Big Book of Juices has 400 some odd juices and smoothies and is what I'd recommend if you're simply looking for ways to use your juicer and blender.

If you're looking for a quick fix for a special event, this might be your book; although, if it's a quick fix only and you aren't ready to make a longer term lifestyle change, almost all diets will work while you're on them and you might be in a better place on something like the 17 Day Diet, South Beach or countless others that allow solid foods.

Bought a juicer to increase my nutrient intake and thought I'd do some reading on the topic.

The recipes themselves are really great! The book was also a really easy read (done within a day). However, even the newest revised version is really out of date with particular references and some distasteful anecdotes here and there.

Read if you want a simple, beginners guide to jucing and some excellent recipes. Take some of the other stuff with a pinch of salt.

Jason is great! I don't know what kind of a degree he has (if any), but he is certainly good with human nature...and funny taboot! He's from the UK so has a nice little accent! This book isn't about weight loss, but his publishers said that he'd reach a larger audience if he focused on weight. His intent is that he could inroduce us to a life-style change. Juicing... Go Jason! It's been a great addition into our daily living.

I haven't actually tried the diet yet but I do have fresh juice for breakfast and sometimes lunch an I love it!! I want to try the diet and I think that I will!! It's not really a recipe book though.... More of a motivator but it's still a good book

Ehh, what was I thinking? There are better books on juices out there. Also, juice diets are not healthy on the long term so people really shouldn't be thinking of diets like this. The juices are unoriginal and be noted: you need a juicer for these recipes. Deleted off my e-reader right away!

While I definitely lost a few pounds on this, I didn't lose nearly as much as I expected and I felt like there was too much fruit (ie sugar). I prefer more vegetable based juicing.

This book and plan deliver!

First read the book. Then get the app when you are ready to start juicing because the app has all the recipes and times to drink them, along with great coaching every day from the author. This book was worth every penny, it really can change your life! Try it!

Well this worked for me. I lost 8lb in the 7 days and am now loving juicing. I feel so much better overall in my heath. Really recommend getting the app to go with it.

This is a motivational book for those who are looking to make a change in their lives. Would you love to lose weight and get healthy fast? Juicing could be the answer and Jason Vale, the Juice Master can help you to get fit and living super healthy like never before. The slogan on the book claims he's 'the man who helped Jordan lose 2 stone in 3 months' - which is a very encouraging sign.

It's recommended that you read this book thoroughly before attempting any of the recipes and it's a good idea too as you need to be fully prepared before going ahead with this programme to both stick it out and get maximum results.

I enjoyed this book and found Vale's tone very motivating and encouraging, however I would've liked some more pictures of the juices to go with each one so the end results can be seen before attempting to make them. Perhaps a bit petty, but I think this would've been helpful. Otherwise, a great read and highly recommended for those who are looking to kick start a new, healthy body and lifestyle.

By the end of this book I felt converted to try the juicing detox and also take consideration to the raw vegan lifestyle. A job well done. If you want to get healthy - read it.

I really enjoyed reading this book and following the juice plan. I found it the easiest 'diet' I've ever tried (and I've tried a LOT!)
The shopping lists for days 1-3 and 4-6 are brilliant, as is the wall planner that may come with this book (you can also get it separately) which shows which juice/smoothie should be had at each meal on each day, along with all the recipes you need.
The first time i followed this plan, I followed it to the letter, and lost an amazing 14lbs in 7 days - yes, a stone. Yes, some of it may have been water, and yes it's very fast to lose that amount quickly, but i felt the healthiest i had in years. I had more energy, my skin was glowing and i just felt so good.
I actually lost 3 stone in 3 months prior to my wedding in 2008, by using this plan, and then following the recommended follow on book from this plan. The only exercise i did alongside was swimming around 30 lengths, twice or 3 times a week.
Yes, i have put the weight back on, but once we were married i started pigging out again, so i am entirely to blame. I'm planning to do this plan again in the new year as a start to a lifestyle change - wish me luck!

It's my brothers wedding this weekend and I borrowed this book off my sister because I was nervous about fitting into my dress which is UK size 10. (I haven't been a comfortable 10 in years) It worked for her she lost 7lbs and her husband lost a stone in a week. This is the only reason I gave it 2 stars because I need to appreciate that it does work. I ended up not doing the diet because it's so expensive! The actual ingredients for 3 days food for 1 person was nearly £50! (Also by wearing a bra that flattened my boobs a bit I fitted into the dress ok).

But in terms of a review for a book I would give this a 1 because that's the lowest score you can give. The author is so condescending, he tells you you have to read this from start to finish so I did. What a load of crap! He goes on and on about how he knows more than doctors and dieticians, saying its bullshit that loosing that much weight quickly is really unhealthy and then to back up his thoughts he gives a weak quote from a review from one GP. I could rant more about how dumb this book is but its not worth my time. My sis says it works so she doesn't care what quality of book it was so maybe if I lost 7lb I'd think the same.

I've been waiting until I did the program in order to review this book. The author's writing style wasn't really my cup of tea, though I appreciated his frankness and the fact that he didn't try to make you feel better about things. Basically his motto is "you WANT to do it, and you CAN do it, so DO it!" The program itself wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. Days 1 and 2 were tough, as was the final day, but it was more mentally tough and having to convince yourself to stick with it. I wasn't actually hungry on the program and I felt incredible while juicing - my skin and eyes cleared up, I had lots of energy and a clear mind, and one of my housemates even described me as glowing! I also lost 5.5kg which was amazing. One criticism would be that the juices had too much fruit in my opinion - everything was super sweet and I was a bit worried about my sugar intake. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who's considering a juice cleanse and haven't ruled out doing it again in the future.

I am new to the concept of juicing and have been skeptical about these juice programs, even though I have friends who have tried them and give them a good review. I then watched the documentary 'Super Juice Me', which piqued my interest. I started to investigate and this led me to this book. I read it in 2 days. It is written in a chatty manner, but is also very straight forward, no punches pulled, telling it like it is, way. And yes, there is a bit of humour mixed in.
The book pretty much tackled a lot of my queries and misconceptions about juicing. I found it very informative. The plan is presented in detail and in an easy to follow manner. I have not given this book more stars, as the proof is in the eating...or the drinking, in this case. I am currently doing the prep work to attempt this plan. Once I have done it, then maybe I can review my rating.

I loved this book. have already lost the 7lbs and still not finished. I have the 28 day juice plan ready to move onto straight after.
not only did I lose half a stone in 5 days, I have felt so much better. I sleep better and feel more energised.
I am officially a persuaded party to the juicing life style.
I've read comments that to follow this is expensive, but I used it as an opportunity to start supporting my local grocery stores and found that actually the cost is surprising low. plus I am not eating out etc.
I could go on and on about how much I recommend juicing... HOWEVER do read the whole book (even if you don't like his style of writing). it gets your prepared for feeling crap on day 2-3 etc which would otherwise have concerned me.
Go on; Read it!! Buy a juicer and get healthy and slim!!

I re-read this book...in only 10 minutes (I'd already read the whole thing, some years before)

Does it work? Well I shall soon know.

The juices are delicious. Eating/drinking that amount if nutrients is good for a person.

I am still looking at the box of Krispy Kreme donuts in the kitchen, but the pineapples, spinach, cucumber, apples, kale, lemons, avocado, and lime that have taken over an entire kitchen counter look that much more appealing.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. So let's give it a go.

Also it's nice to be able to read an entire book in less than half an hour, given that I read so slowly.

(Just realised that I am reading 25 other books simultaneously. The George Orwell one is brilliant)

I love this book because of the way Jason Vale writes it.
SIMPLE
I wanted a simple way to do a juice program and he's certainly given it to me..and much more.
I love that he gets into your head before starting the program because we all know how important it is to be mentally ready for any change you adopt in your lifestyle!
Highly recommend it!!
Oh and he's also very funny :)
I have yet to do the program(as I had to read the book first as he recommends) but can't wait to get started, not only on the cleanse, but the next phases that allow you to integrate the juices in your health habits :)

I adore this book, and I adore Jason Vales style of writing! I don't think I'm yet to come across anybody in the field of health and nutrition to motivate and inspire me in such a way. The plan is a challenge, but this book totally prepares you for every step, as well as changing the way you think about your diet and exercise habits going forward.

Totally recomend trying the 7 day superjuice diet at least once. Most importantly, make sure you listen to Jason and as he says in all of his books, it is ESSENTIAL to read it cover to cover!

I read this cover to cover in 2 days. I have annoyed my husband by reading out snippets on nearly every page. I feel totally inspired and can't wait to get started but am waiting for a few prep-purchases to arrive before I can do so. I like his style of writing - I responded to it well. I feel exceptionally positive, already feeling virtuous having made the decision to commit. Onwards to read Turbo Charge now while my husband reads this :-) Deeply exciting.

The science behind the juice diet is well explained, most of the juices are quite yummy, however I really could not maintain living on juice alone for 7 days, although I'm sure some people can, my body does not seem to be able to cope with such an extreme detox although I can manage 1 day quite happily and still use the juice recipes to replace breakfast sometimes which works very well.

This book has an inaccurate title - I lost 11lb in 7 days!

Jason Vale's writing style is engaging and outrageous! He is the sort of person it would be impossible to be depressed around.

He is a great motivator and excellent at explaining the benefits of juicing.

I knew the author from a documentary I saw. I loved his talk and the way he thinks! I decided to embark on this starting tomorrow. I did some juicing before so I know what I'm getting myself into. I hope I'll be able to do this on my own though. I wanna take it all the way.

A very inspiring book that had me on the verge of buying a juicer, even though I read it visiting my sister and about to start on a 5 day fast. I deducted one star because the book is a little uncomfortable to read in places when Jason tears a 'friend' apart for giving up the programme early.
