Fallen Angel is the second in an erotic romance trilogy inspired by the burlesque clubs of New York and Los Angeles. The novels are about an ordinary woman who discovers herself - and her sexuality - through the world of burlesque. Mallory Dale works as a paralegal in a top Manhattan law firm, by day. But at night, she's a bombshell burlesque performer on the rise. Her dream is to become a top dancer but she becomes distracted when her boyfriend, Alec, starts pushing her erotic boundaries. Can she handle a three-way with a wildly uninhibited dominatrix? Or should she hang up her feathers and focus on her day job?

At the firm her sexy boss unexpectedly ignites her deepest fantasies and tempts her to find satisfaction away from her tempestuous relationship with Alec. But is she ready to play it safe and give up the man she's always loved for the thrill of life on the edge?

Fallen Angel (Club Burlesque #2) by Logan Belle
* I received a copy of this book from Kensington in exchange for an honest review*

Mallory has been drawn to the world of burlesque ever since she was drug on stage by Bette Noir on her birthday. Now dancing as Moxie, she is quickly becoming a favorite at The Blue Angel club. However, she is having trouble balancing her two worlds and dreads the day her boss Gavin finds out her secret; she can’t afford to lose another job.

Mallory is a strong female that knows what she wants, now if she can just keep her worlds from crashing. She enjoys her work as a paralegal and she is good at it but she also loves the thrill she gets while on stage performing. She decides it’s time to make some changes in her life, will she choose a legal career or continue to dance as Moxie.

Alec and Mallory have an interesting relationship. He wants them to be open and to try new things together, even include a third person into the equation. Things don’t go as planned and he catches her and Violet Offender in a compromising position. He begins questioning Mallory’s commitment to their relationship.

Mallory’s boss at the law firm, Gavin begins making passes at her confusing her even further. She is attracted to him and things are on the rocks with Alec so she gives him a chance. She never would’ve guessed that he liked everything “vanilla”.

The characters seem to jump right out of the pages at you. They are all interesting and complex with extreme depth. The book focuses on Alec and Mallory but the secondary characters add so much to the book like Violet Offender, Bette Noir, Justin and Martha Baxter and Billy Barton. The characters are all larger than life and they made the book all the more interesting.

The world of burlesque is becoming more and more popular. This book gives the reader a look inside a burlesque club, the dancers, costumes and the music. Ever since I watched the movie Burlesque I fell in love with this world and this series was icing on the cake.

I started the series with this book. There were a few times I was a little lost but overall it can be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed this book so much that I bought the first one, Blue Angel. Naked Angel continues the story and looks to be even better. I loved this Fallen Angel and give it 4 Flaming Hearts.

In Short
- Fallen Angel follows on nicely from Blue Angel.
- Sadly I still struggled to bond with Mallory in this book.
- There was some twists throughout the book but nothing massive.
- I felt Fallen Angel suffered a little from middle nook syndrome.

In Long
Fallen Angel is the second in The Blue Angel Series. I read this straight after Blue Angel which was nice as I was able to completely understand what was going on. Although I do feel you could just read this one without having read the first. Logan kind of did some recaps throughout the book which would have helped anyone who hadn't read the first or had read it a few months before.

Fallen Angel follows on nicely from Blue Angel and I was able to get straight back into the story. I was really hoping to gain a bond with Mallory in this book and that she would do something to make me like her. Sadly she didn't She didn't necessarily do anything wrong, although she does do some silly things, I just couldn't get myself to really like her.

I liked the addition of a few characters and it really added to the story. I enjoyed getting to know the new characters. However I did feel with these new characters lots of twists were going to be added but I felt a bit disappointed. There were a few little things but I didn't feel anything massive happened. I wasn't ever gripped like I would have liked to have been.

Final Thoughts
Fallen Angel is a good middle book but I did feel it suffered from middle book syndrome, I am hoping Naked Angel will have ‘added spice’ to it!

This series is like a train wreck I can’t stop reading. It reminds me of Gossip Girl… grossly 2011, you basically hate all the characters and their toxic relationships, but their fabulous lives are too intriguing to not know what happens next. I guess I’m too enamored by the Burlesque scene of it all.

“The Blue Angel Has a Tilted Halo”

Wow!! This book should have been printed on asbestos paper!
Mallory Dale, known after dark as the talented “Moxie” in burlesque circles, also, has a daytime position as a top notch Paralegal in a prestigious Manhattan Law Firm. She stresses over how to keep the two budding careers she loves, separate and wonders if she should pursue a possible law career, of which she would excel, while the possibility of becoming the top dancer at the “Blue Angel” keeps beckoning to her. Her Boyfriend, Alec, is no help, as he is tries to push her in directions that she’s not sure she’s truly comfortable with.
Mallory relies on her best friends, Julie and Allison, for advice on her life and love, but in the end, the decisions are hers alone. Should she put her dancing on the back burner and study to take the bar exam once more, being unsuccessful in her first attempt? Her Boss, the hunky Attorney, Gavin Stone encourages this move, while not making her life-altering decisions any easier. Add to the mix,
insecurity where her relationship with Alec is concerned and her stress level is increased ten-fold. You’ll be introduced to the myriad of people from Mallory’s/Moxie’s world. Agnes; the aging owner of the “Blue Angel” who is also an artist with a needle and thread; “Violet Offender”; the self-centered,devious,dancer/dominatrix,Justin Baxter and Martha Pike; an unlikely looking, eccentric, wealthy duo who are “in the know” of the entertainment business, Bette Noir;the former top dancer of the “Blue Angel”, Poppy; the up and coming, slightly naïve’,love struck performer, Billy Barton; Alec’s boss at “Gruff Magazine” and so many
more, who help to weave this erotic tale with deepest fantasy. Be sure to read the tempting snippet of the next volume entitled, “ Naked Angel”, due out in April of 2012. I’m betting you won’t be able to put either down until finished.

Fallen Angel is the second book in Logan Belle's erotic romance series Club Burlesque. I did not read the first book Blue Angel, so I can tell you that I was a bit lost when it came to some of the characters and exactly how they fit into the story, at least toward the beginning. However, Fallen Angel mainly focuses on Mallory after she decides to give up going to law school to concentrate on a burlesque career, and to earn extra money takes on a paralegal job during the day working for sexy Gavin Stone. In this installment, Mallory's unhappy with long time boyfriend Alec because he keeps pushing their sexual boundaries to include a third party. In particular Violet Offender a new performer in the club. In the meantime, Violet is really interested in Mallory (I mean really, really interested), and she plays the role of a manipulative, vampy, villainous dominatrix to a "t"!! I kind of liked Violet!

Mallory on the other hand is quite frustrating as a character. She doesn't really know what she wants! She goes back and forth between burlesque and law a few times, and yes it's frustrating -- the woman is worse than a weather vane. She's upset with Alec because she suspects that he wants to continue having threesomes, but she'll have a go with another woman and constantly lusts after her boss. Hmm... yeap! So, what did I like about this book? Well, I love the burlesque world that Belle pulled together in this book. It really is intriguing, plus the secondary characters and circumstances had me going throughout the story. There's no way I will miss the next book in this series, if only to find out what Violet will do next and what's going to happen with the clubs!

* I won this as part of GoodReads First Reads-

Fallen Angel is book #2 in the series by Logan Belle. A little to spicy for me but in the interest of fairness to the publisher who so graciously provided me with a free copy, I read anyway. Despite the sometimes shocking scenes (which I understand knowing the type of genre of this book) I had a hard time following the plot line. I suppose if you weren't reading for plot- you probably wouldn't mind. :-) I don't think I will be picking up #1 or #3.

This book is really unique as is the entire series. It is so sexually charged and the characters are so unique. The F/F aspect is intense and really pushes the main couple to the background.

Mallory still can't get it right with Alec, but I liked reading about the Burlesque scene.
