BRILLIANT BRILLIANT book that talks about how parenting can nurture your soul through the various challenges of bringing a child into the world and raising him/her. The book is not a "how to" book about parenting, it is more of a reflection on real-life situations and how we draw meaning out of these. I find alot of popular Christian books to be wishy washy and a struggle to read, but this was so much more than simply quoting bible passages and saying something vague about God and life, the author has truly reflected on it and used brilliant illustrations. I think I will be reading this book over and over again for years to come!

Fantastic book on parenting... which was focused much differently than most parenting books I've read. Thomas sought to teach about how the act of parenting can form us spiritually. If you are looking for a 'how-to' parent book... this isn't for you: However, if you are looking for a deeply reflective, moving look at how God can use the act of parenting to change us in just about every way possible... you've come to the right place. Well written book! I'll be coming back to this one again, I'm sure.

Gary provides good, wise advice here. He takes a really fresh approach. It's completely different than a "how to" book.
All parents should seek to digest and actualize many of the concepts shared in here.
The downside to this book, in my opinion, is that there is too much rambling/repetition. It seems to me that the author basically bloats about 180 pages of content into 240.
