Toni Carleton, a resourceful, proud, and determined young African American woman struggling to make a success of her hair salon and raise her six-year-old daughter, finds her world turned upside down by a new crisis involving her two younger sisters, Joyand Lynn, that threatens to tear her family apart
This book used to belong to my mother. I browsed our shelves and noticed it. She hasn't brought up the book in over a decade so I decided to take it. An excellent story!! True to life and uplifting. Nothing saccharine, I could visualize each dilemma and joy.
This will not be my only time reading Sharon Mitchell.
4.5 stars It took me about 12 days to finish this book, no thanks to camp and nysc wahala. This is my 3rd time visiting this book, and I still really enjoyed it. It's such a wholesome and worthy read...
