Foolish Virgin

Rate this book
Five high school friends form a club called The ChasteKeepers, aka CKs, and pledge to uphold their credo -- one which is to abstain from premarital sexual activities.

However, when MacKensie's boyfriend pressures her for an intimate relationship, she toys with temptation and hides her weaknesses instead of seeking support and encouragement from her friends, the trusted CKs.

The ChasteKeepers decide to go undercover to expose MacKensie's two-timing, heartbreaking boyfriend, Reggie. But when the gang begins to develop evidence on their chaotic adventures, they uncover more than they expected!

Role Models

Rebecca, the co-founder of the ChasteKeepers a.k.a CKs, is the tomboy of the group. Basketball and mysteries are the only things, besides the CKs, that Rebecca thinks about. Lately, her best friend, MacKensie, has been seeing heartthrob and heartbreaker, Reggie. Their friendship is tarnishing and Rebecca fights to restore not only her best friend, but the vows that her and the rest of the CKs have given their lives to.

Pat, the Cuban firecracker of the group, has an appetite for food and getting on Kirsten's nerves. Always the one to enjoy a good meal, Pat has just a few extra pounds to go to make the rest of the CKs suggest it's time for a diet. Her love of cookies and cakes, does not stop her from helping the CKs form a plan to make MacKensie see Reggie as the cupcake head he truly is.

Kirsten is everyone's Southern Belle. Her rich roots give her just enough substance over the rest of the CKs, or so she thinks. Her oil and vinegar relationship with Pat keeps the group on their toes. With her mastermind plan to rid MacKensie of Reggie, Kirsten knows that without her good looks and great ideas, the CKs would just be a bunch of ordinary "Yankees."

Brittany is the ultimate peacemaker of the CKs. Dealing with Kirsten and Pat can get on any sane person's nerves, but Brittany always has a joke to break the tension and flip back to the matter at hand. Hoping they can help MacKensie without an all out war between themselves, Brittany helps to reestablish what the CKs are truly about.

MacKensie is the other co-founder of the CKs and also the brainiac. She whips through tests and homework without blinking an eye, but for some reason has trouble with street smarts. Falling for one of the most handsome boys in high school, MacKensie finds herself in a vulnerable situation. Her head is telling her one thing, but her heart is telling her another. Will she choose the CKs, her lifelong friends, or Reggie, her one true love?

I like the way the author deals with not only hot topics like peer pressure, boys and friends but faith, patience and protection. The CKs are good role models for each young girl in society. I recommend this book for all teens.
