The illustrations are outstanding and the interiors charming, comfortable, interesting, lavish and distinctive.

Haslam shares his secrets with us in prose as stylish as his interiors. So now I too want to paint some textured wallpaper silver and have an artist decorate it with bouquets or maybe I'll line some thick white silk curtains with mauve taffeta, or paint walls in a dozen shades of white, perhaps place a string of uplights behind sheer curtains....so much inspiration.

I thought the photos in this book really good and I enjoyed looking at the decor. Some of it was a bit over-the-top but I guess that's opulence.
