The book follows on pretty much where the previous left off and follows Mitzy in her life as a real estate agent and what happens to the house she had acquired at the end of the last one, as well as the man.

I really liked the first book and thought it couldn't get much better but somehow it did and I like this one even more. Mitzy was perfect and her fella, Alonso was pretty awesome too. The chemistry between them was great and there were some really funny moments with spoons. Often it's the simple things that are great.

Unfortunately there was no direct mention of the puppy from the first book and what had happened to it, although I know it was only borrowed. It was one of my favourite characters, however.

The plot was good and actually kept me guessing this time although I wanted to tell Mitzy off at a couple of points when she wasn't paying attention to what I thought were obvious clues and issues.

All in all I really think people should check out this series and I've already picked up the third to review soon.

SUMMARY: Mitzy Neuhaus is dying to get back to business as usual, but The Worst Economy Since The Great Depression has just about killed her real estate business. But when the excessive interest of the FBI, city planners, and possibly the Mafia, threaten to derail Mitzy's plans things really get dangerous.

This book had a lot of potential but I didn't feel it hit the mark. There didn't appear to be a whole lot of growth in the two main characters. The "overkill" on Mitzy's purple real estate colors got old. Alonzo's attitude toward Mitzy ran hot and cold for a suitor. I also thought that the mystery did not come to a real conclusion but rather went out with a whimper instead of a bang. Finally, I felt that though this is considered a "cozy Christian mystery" that the Christian aspect was just added in here and there so it would be marketable in this category.

An excellent addition to the series!

This is the third book I have read in this series and every one of them have been five-star reads by my standards. This story has all the elements that I love in a cozy mystery. It is engaging and entertaining. It has a little romance added to the story. It is free of graphic violence. It is free of abusive and foul language. This series is so good that I am binge reading through it.

This is a well-written, clean, fun, and easy read. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great mystery story with a touch of romance.

A quote from another reviewer that I agree with 100%, “I have enjoyed 4 of your books and all of them should get 5 stars. I loved that she was not so lacking in her vocabulary that she had to use vulgar language and cursing as so many of her fellow authors.”.

Mitzi and the Mafia

Continued from book one, Mitzi is still trying to figure out the secrets of the house she is turning into an Inn. Between bouts with the FBI and the Mafia Mitzi and Alonzo get engaged. Great second book.

Good book

This I thought was a little slow but a good book to read. I did get the entire series to finish.

EMINENT DOMAIN is the second in the Mitzy Neuhaus Mysteries, Cozy Christian Collection) and continues the story started in FORECLOSED. Mitzy has taken ownership of the old house where she and her friends found jewels that were then returned to Russia. As she and Alonzo work to strip the house and turn it into an Inn and a job for Alonzo's sister, Mitzy finds some papers with names and information, but nothing seemingly of value. But the FBI wants all the furniture and wants to tear the Inn apart in search for, well, something. Mitzy doesn't want to give up the lists - apparently of immigrants and their sponsors from 50 years ago - for fear it will cause problems for them. She eventually gives up and turns over the furniture and some other things, but holds onto one box. In the meantime, some friends of the Russian mafia are also looking for something. One of the goons is supposed to kidnap Mitzy, but ends up with Ben. What is it that the FBI and the mafia both want? Is there something in these papers that Mitzy is missing? Will they be able to open the Inn? This is a good clean cozy mystery for a relaxing read at the beach or by the pool, but I would recommend reading them in order.

Picking up right where Foreclosed left off, Mitzy and the tall, dark, and handsome Alonzo are going over their plans for the dilapidated Victorian mansion that was the center of so much strife in Foreclosed.
They bought the mansion together to find the royal Russian jewels hidden within the walls by the original owner, a real Russian princess. Now they are remodeling the building into a bed and breakfast, but the FBI has other plans. Turns out the jewels were only the beginning of the intrigue hidden in the house. Additionally, the city has decided the street the mansion is on is the ideal pathway for a street car line, which would destroy their plans for a bed and breakfast, and the property values for all the homeowners on the street. Tack onto that the sluggish economy's effects on Mitzy's business and you have one stressed out woman.
Mitzy and Alonzo find their individual faith being tested as well as their newfound relationship with each other as business and personal lives collide.
Like Foreclosed, Eminent Domain is fun, clean entertainment, suitable for anyone.

Traci Tyne Hilton has done something unusual and quite interesting with her novel Eminent Domain: she's combined real estate with mystery. I don't know if this genre exists, (real-estate mystery) but if not, Ms. Tyne Hilton has created it. As a person who is interested in historic homes, renovation and city planning, I was particularly drawn in. But when the novel exploded into an action packed thriller, I was even further rewarded. The author really knows how to draw a character and paint a description. She writes with ease and humor and throws just a little bit of Christian ethic into the romance aspect of the book, staying away from the urge to go sexy. The romance is sweet never-the-less, and adds plenty of extra interest. Finally, as the story takes place in Portland, Oregon, I enjoyed it even more so, because, though I'm not from Portland, I love the city, and enjoyed traveling the streets and visiting the neighborhoods and local spots by proxy. Well done!

Eminent Domain-A Mitzy Neuhaus Mystery possess all of the qualities of a great mystery with a lot of extra thrown in. I enjoyed peeking into a sweet romance, gaining insight on housing market, while feeding my interest on renovations. Mitzy, the main character is such an entertaining (and curious)soul I found myself cheering her own while worrying about the next bit of adventure she would fall into. I was very impressed with the amount of knowledge I gained about the realestate business through a mystery. Never a dull page. Traci Hilton did an awesome job. I recommend this book.

This a Christian based Cozy Mystery

This is second book in the series. Mitzy Neuhaus is a die-hard Realtor that bought a property that she now shares with her boyfriend and his sister. Together they are doing their best to turn it into an inn. Only the FBI, mafia, and someone on the city council have a different idea. Will Mitzy survive this struggle? Will her boyfriend and his family dump her too? You'll have to read until the end to find out.

I really enjoyed this book. It had not only the obvious conflicts with the authorities but relationship struggles as well.

Another fun story from Traci Hilton. Easy to read, no gory murders. Just a fun story. I was interested in the Russian connection there in Portland. And I enjoyed the description of the Victorian house. With nothing else to do, easily read in one day.

I enjoyed this book but the way some of the action happened wasn't very believable. If you want a fun, action packed mystery then this is the book for you.
