“So if my advice comes across like a slap in the face, then good. You can thank me later.”
Matt and Jason Carroll may have had the best intention for this book definitely thought their no-nonsense approach would help others it may help a few. I found the message cold with no unique or new ideas and they will definitely not allow anyone who has had any trauma that has destroyed who they are. So if you fit in that mold this is not for you. Matt and Jason's writing style are that of a demanding ball-breaking high school coach who is screaming at you to listen and you can not listen because of the screaming. Now not to say they did not have some overall good points but with the writing style, they were missed until you read it again. Before you think that I am bashing the book Matt and Jason do point out in Chapter One that if you are suffering from Anxiety, Depression or your lack of confidence is so debilitating that you’ve turned to an addicting substance then I urge you to seek medical advice. That disclaimer is what I took for a disclaimer. Being someone who is disabled I love reading self-help books and looking at the different people have for tips and tricks for helping and getting help and I can honestly say that I was disappointed in this book. Even the self-esteem quiz in chapter two has similar questions to those who have Autism, PTSD, or ADHD. The reason that people may avoid certain people may have nothing to do with confidence and everything to do with self-survival. If you suffer from Mental Illness or have a disability this is not the book for you. If you are looking for something sort like advice from your high school coach this may be exactly what you need. If you are currently in therapy you might talk to your doctor before taking any advice from any book to include this one. I did finish this book but I can say that the only thing I got out of this book was flashbacks from my baseball coach which did give me a few happy memories but the advice is just about what you can find anywhere. I will agree to choose to be confident does go a long way to getting it, but I also think it takes some healing too.

I was honored to be asked to read and review Matt and Jason Carroll’s book on adulting. We all know adulting is never fun and it can be really hard. This book helps you do just that. Matt and Jason Carroll give you the steps, guidance and support to help you confidently adult and be successful! Grab your copy today!
I have always considered myself pretty confident. However, I am not blinded that I struggle with some aspects of self-incofidence. Reading this book has opened my eyes on why and how those self-inconfident moments arise. How I can recognize them and change my thinking around to deter them. Act,just do,push on,and overall don't overthink and hold back. Something many have heard, however, the authors go into detail on how to catch on and do just that. I highly recommend this book!!!!
All of my life I have gotten in my own way preventing myself from achieving what I wanted to achieve. This book helped me work on that issue. I’m not saying it will be easy or this book is a quick fix but as you go through the process step by step you will find that this book can help you change your frame of your life.
I don't know. There's good stuff in here, but it comes off very much as a summary of other books.
The "how to adult" part of the title is accurate, the "build unshakeable confidence " not so much. Feels very much directed to young people with severe confidence issues. I'm not saying that isn't important, but I am saying it's not the best fit for people who are not quite in that category.
Also, no book that keeps quoting hypocrite extraordinaire opiate addict Jordan Peterson is going to age well. Apparently I got reported for saying this, so here you go: updated to 1 star.
