A hand-pump is also supplied by which the driver can keep the proper amount when the machine is still or in case of a breakdown. A water-gauge in plain sight keeps the driver informed at all times as to the amount of water in the boiler. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.

Dnf. I was expecting an emphasis on the biographies of inventors but instead the emphasis was on how the inventions worked, sometimes without any reference to the inventor.

This book is a very old one and so most of the invention that are talked about in this book like steam engines, hot-air balloons etc are now well obsolete. But the stories about them are interesting. So if you want to know about old invention this can be a good read.
