Samantha Harvey lives on the outskirts of town and feels as if she exists on the fringe of everything else. Changing ethics, flawed morals, and human selfishness conflict with time-honored virtues to cause the characters to yearn for a nostalgic past that no longer exist for them.

I really enjoyed this novel. I've never been to Chandler but will drive through it next time I am out that wat just to see silk stocking row.. this book was easy to read and I had a hard time putting it down. it's the kind of story that sticks with you and keeps you asking "I wonder what would have happened if"?
