Nevertheless: Discover personal strength in one word

With one unassuming word, Jesus freed us and revealed the love of God. Jesus captured the awesome power of this word in the Garden of Gethsemane.  The howling demons, teasing, tormenting and sneering, danced around Him in His agony. Jesus knew what lay ahead for Him, yet  He lifted His eyes above the filth of earth, above the blood-spattered rock on which He prayed, and said one word. That one word saved a race that deserved no "Nevertheless." Jesus prayed, and heaven and earth rejoiced. If you want to confuse the enemy--say, Nevertheless. When you are completely out of intellectual arguments--say Nevertheless Should terrible events threaten to overwhelm you and rip at the foundations of your soul, remember you still have an answer--Nevertheless. Free at last. With this one word, the Son has set you free!

This little book is one of my top book recommendations for Christians who are discouraged in their walk with Jesus, and for those who are not big readers.

The communication of Dr. Rutland in this book is outstanding. As you read through this book, you will feel more empowered and capable of confronting the discouragement and trials we face as followers of Christ. It is a book I will read every few years. I must for every believer's library.

Through it all a powerful tool we Christians have is the word "Nevertheless". This is an amazing book for so many reasons but it reminds me to properly separate humanism from God. God is God, and sometimes we just can't apply human logic to it. There is so much more amazing in this book. Give it a read. This book uses the word nevertheless to explain this with varying examples and it's amazing.

Dr. Mark Rutland brings us another powerful book on taking the tools that God has provided us and putting them to work for his cause. In Nevertheless, Dr. Rutland shares the power behind this word that God has graced us with. This word gives us a cure for fear, a weapon against danger, and a new grip on our faith. In many important moments in biblical history, God's servants found themselves at the ends of their rope, but nevertheless took them that last step into God's mercy and grace. In the words of Peter, "Nevertheless, at thy word..."; no sooner did he give up to Jesus' command that the fish literally jumped into his net. In the words of Nehemiah, "Nevertheless, we made our prayer unto our God..." and God rewarded him with success. This pocket-sized guide can see you through troubling times by reminding you of the power of God when you simply relinquish your own doubts and obey his word.

This book is encouraging and uplifting. When you don’t know what to say and you have run out of arguments, nevertheless. The word every Christian should know.
