Another great title for parents and kids. I really appreciated the care and diversity in the messages about passion and balance. This book is NOT just for skaters. The book does a great job of speaking in universal terms that anyone can relate to as they search for a dream.

Michelle Kwan, one of my childhood idols. Always wanted to be an ice skater, but alast never was.

She was famous her her skating abilities which includes being the youngest senior competitor in the 1995 U.S. championships. One of her major life events was that in 1997 her performance at the national championships was the most disappointing moment in her life because of the fall that did not make her win first place.

Michelle tells us her struggle with her career. She gives advice to readers on how to become successful and how to overcome obstacles, she talks about life and how to respect it, how to discipline one self and the basics of what it takes to become a champion in any situation. Its all about the attitude.

Michelle takes us through how she was inspired to become an olympic athlete.

The first part of the book is about 10 attributes we need to pursue our dreams, as well as how to differentiate our dreams from idle fantasy. She talks a lot about the discipline and attitude required. Her optimism and grace are felt throughout. She peppers the book with stories from her career and how her attitude was beneficial in good times and in bad.

The second half of the book details how to get serious in our pursuit of our goals. She finishes with a chapter on common sense, which while incredibly basic still covers territory I wish more self improvement books would detail.

Through it all her personality and good sense sparkles, as well as her love for what she has dedicated her life to.

I love michelle kwan, she is awesome!!! This book works for every sport. It teaches you all the important values and skills any winner needs to have: no not how to win the nationals or how you do a trip-axel (although she does talk about her career some) it talks about ATTITUDE. Like I say "Whether you think you can, or think you can't your right" I am going to find that on quotes- I def was not the first person to say that!

Michelle Kwan does a fantastic job of talking with her audiance instead of at them. I am sure this has guided a lot of kids.
