Single mother Kait Field is back home in the small Oklahoma town she left eight years ago. It's time to empty the family home, close the door on the past and introduce her daughter, Jenna, to her daddy. Ryan Jones hasn't quite forgiven his teenage sweetheart, who left him with unanswered questions and a broken heart. But Kait was never accepted by his controlling family, and they don't seem any more welcoming this time around. Yet now Ryan and Kait are resolved that nothing will come between renewed promises of faith, forever—and the second chance that neither expected.

I was pleasantly surprised when I won a contest on author TINA RADCLIFFE'S site. I received some pretty cool things, but I was most excited about the copy of her next release, OKLAHOMA REUNION. I waited with bated breath in anticipation of its arrival. I can't say enough about her first book, THE RANCERS REUNION. If I were one to reread books, this would be at the top of my list.
Kait Field is back in Oklahoma for the first time since she left eight years ago. Sure, she has business to tend to...but she also has a secret that needs to be revealed. She was the last person Ryan Jones expected to see. After all, she left suddenly with no explanation, leaving his heart shattered. Could they both forgive the past enough to have a future?
I knew once I started OKLAHOMA RENUNION I'd have a hard time putting the book down, and sure enough, it wasn't until page eighty that I was able to do so. Ryan isn't one of your typical cowboy characters. He says exactly what's in his heart. I loved that about him. Love the characters and the plot as well as MS. RADCLIFFE's writing. Can't wait for her next book.

I enjoyed this love inspired story. Kait Field had to face her past so she heads back to her home town in Oklahoma after her father passes away. She meets up with her high school sweetheart Ryan Jones, and has some things to discuss with him, like the daughter he has and knew nothing about. Old feelings are still there between the couple and flames are rekindled. Happy Ending..
My first book by Tina Radcliff. and i would read more by this author.
This book took no time to read because you just wanted to see how it was going to end!! Kait is back in her home town to settle some things but really to introduce her daughter Jenna to her dad after so many years. Ryan never knew why his high school sweetheart left all of a sudden. Will Kait still introduce him, knowing that his family knew everything and sent her away? Will they try again?
Thanks Tina for my copy of this book. I won on the Seekerville blog. I really enjoyed this book. Didn't want to put it down. Ryan was a secondary character in the first book and I am so glad he got his own book. Kait left Oklahoma 8 years ago and hasn't seen Ryan since then. She is back with her daughter Jenna who happens to be Ryan's daughter. I love Jenna, she is a sweet child looking for a fathers love. The main stumbling block is Ryan's family and we see what happens here. If you love animals you will love the book. Ryan has some interesting pets. Some of the issues dealt with in this book are forgiveness, acceptance, and learning to allow others in. Kait has spent so many years being a single mum and shielding herself from hurt that she finds it hard to open herself up again. A good read and I am now wondering what the next book from Tina will be.
Radcliffe has written a polished, heart-warming and inspiring romance that will thrill 'classic romance' readers. I love how the characters in this book -- especially Ryan -- were able to look forward instead of wallowing in the past. This twist brought a different perspective to the plot and made for a refreshing read.
Radcliffe also excels with her secondary characters. She has a knack for creating one in each book that almost steals the show from the hero and heroine. In Oklahoma Reunion that would be Gramps. Memorable, funny -- a Grandpa Walton kind of guy who provided a steadying influence amidst family turmoil. But this wasn't an angst-riddled romance. Rather it's a story that brings hope -- a real pleasure to read.
I picked this book up at a library sale for the sole reason that it has Oklahoma in the title. I grew up in Oklahoma and it was fun to read about settings and locations that are familiar to me. I don't believe that I've ever read one of the Love Inspired books, although I am a Christian. I have read lots of Christian fiction books, so I had some expectations from this book that I don't think were fulfilled. The story centers around a young man and woman who were high school sweethearts, but were driven apart because of their families. They run into each other after 8 years and he discovers that she gave birth to his child without him knowing about it. According to the way the book is written, these two characters are Christians who are living out their faith. The daughter is a very sweet, well adjusted child who is craving more family than just her mother. That story plays out very well and the family relationships develop nicely throughout the story. My problem is that there was never any acknowledgement of wrong-doing on the part of the couple when they got pregnant in the first place. Of course, you would not necessarily expect this in a secular book, but I think it should be there since this is supposed to be a Christian book. Of course, Christianity centers around love, forgiveness by Christ, and how God works all things together for good to those who love him. But first we have to come to him and acknowledge what we have done wrong. I think this could have been accomplished in just a couple of sentences early on. That would have probably changed this to a 5 star book for me. Also some of the references to prayer and following God's will felt a little forced. I wasn't sure that the author really believed what she was writing herself and that maybe she was just throwing in those things in because that was what she thought she was supposed to put in a "Christian" book. I apologize to the author if I'm wrong about this. That was just a feeling that I got.
I will read more by this author, if I can find more of her books. According to the author's notes, the main male character in this book was introduced in another book by her called A Rancher's Reunion.
I am so grateful Ryan Jones, a side character in The Rancher's Reunion, got his very own story. And what a story this is! If you like secret baby/child trope, plus an amazing second chance trope, this is the best book to read.
What surfaces quickly and powerfully in this story is the importance of family, the healing work of forgiveness, the wisdom of waiting on God's timing, and the strength of His constant presence in the characters' lives. Sounds like a deep read, doesn't it?
And it is. But it is also such a peaceful read despite a few intense scenes. The phrase 'God's timing' is beautifully repeated throughout the story, and it becomes a sort of an anchor to both Ryan and Kait in the emotional storms they face.
I am picking just two more things I liked about this book. 1) Kait has Native American heritage, and 2) little Jenna rescues a kitten and loves to read books - girl after my own heart ♥️
AND this is the first time I teared up reading Tina Radcliffe's book, in the Letter to Reader of all places:
"Life would be so much easier if we would travel from point A to point B in a straight line. But that isn't the way it always works, isn't it? However, God never leaves us no matter how many detours we make. His promise is that He will be with us always and He will complete what He promised."
Great story showing how people can live the way Christ would have us be. Using Christ's principles these characters show how to live them! Characters were great!
