Владимир Маканин - один из самых известных на Западе современных российских писателей. Это неудивительно, ведь каждая новая книга Маканина - заметное литературное событие. Роман, который вы держите в руках, уже готовится к выходу во Франции, Германии, Голландии, Румынии и Греции.
Роман "Испуг" - асимметричный ответ набоковской "Лолите". На этот раз писателя интересует "психология любви" зрелого мужчины к юным особам. Испуг - наверное, то общее чувство, которое испытывают обе стороны в такой ситуации. И неизвестно, кто оказывается более ранимым и незащищенным - молодая барышня или искушенный, но уже неуверенный в себе сатирмэн. И кто из них получает большее удовольствие от прикосновения к запретному плоду.
Vladimir Makanin (Russian: Владимир Маканин) is a writer of novels and short stories. He graduated from Moscow State University and worked as a mathematician in the Military Academy until the early 1960s. In 1963 he took a course in scriptwriting, and then worked in the publishing house Sovietskiy Pisatel (The Soviet Writer). Makanin's writing style may be categorized as realist. His forte lies in depicting the psychological impact of everyday life experiences.
Dit was de tweede keer dat ik me aan dit boek waagde, en voor de tweede keer bracht ik het niet verder dan net over de 100 bladzijden, helaas, want het was zo'n mooi uitgegeven exemplaar met de Sater op de voorkant van het boek, ter illustratie van de inhoud van het boek dat me eigenlijk heel erg aansprak. Maar Makanin's stijl was me een gruwel, terwijl ik ook de schoonheid ervan inzie. Niet voor mij dus; hortend en stotend worstelde ik me door het boek heen, tot pagina 116 dit keer.
Romanul e mult mai grav de atât. Avem o temă a votului, o temă a tranziției de la comunism la capitalismul moscovit, al cărui smbol este reprezentat de Legislativ (Casa Albă, a nu se confunda cu aceea de peste Ocean). În acest sens este invocat momentul 1993, atunci când președinte era Boris Elțin. Nu în ultimul rând, Makanin are ca miză principală teama/spaima septuagenarului în fața morții.
Oricât ar părea de paradoxal, unui bătrân cu o formație tehnică nu-i este deloc mai simplu și mai ușor să se iluzioneze cu moartea… S-a dus în infinit… S-a dusdincolo de infinit… Într-acolo?… Păi dacă într-acolo se ducea o întreagă generație. Generația noastră… Cum să nu te implici și să nu te strecori în viețile altora când a ta se încheie! Cât e de plăcut să arunci o privire în viața altuia… a oricui, o viață împlinită atât de bine și de ușor (pe ecran). Să ciocănești ca la o ușă … Să ciocănești la o soartă străină. știind dinainte că, pentru un timp, o să-ți dea drumul negreșit înăuntru (p. 178, Bătrânețea, al cincilea buton).
While Makanin uses a nice language with good sense of humor, I wasn't thrilled by this book. It's a pretty quiet, well written novel, very easy to read I could say, but nothing special in my humble opinion and clearly a book that you will not remember after some time you read it. A bit repetitive in its most part with nearly no meanings, except maybe the difference between the old and new generation in modern Russia. Although I wasn't bored while reading it, in the end it left me a taste of a "silly" (chic) piece of literature. However I would like to read Makanin's "Underground" which seems interesting and probably more serious sample of his work.
Verrassend boek met een originele insteek. Ik heb bijzonder moeten lachen om de strapatsen van het hoofdpersonage. De vertaling is bijzonder gesmaakt en geeft m.i. een goed aanvoelen met de bijzonderheden van de Russische taal weer. Hedendaagse Russen worden niet zoveel meer gelezen, maar dit oudje, deze Makanin, is alvast een aanrader.
A dull, repetitive, and rambling account of an older man's obsession with wandering into younger women's dachas on moonlit nights. Beyond some mentions of satyrs, Makanin's attempts at meaning are pretty limited in the first 72% of the book. I think I'll stick to Makanin's early work.
Δε μου άρεσε. Πολλές παρενθέσεις. Δεν έβρισκα νόημα στην ιστορία (δεν ξέρω τι δεν μου άρεσε, η ίδια η ιστορία ή το στυλ γραφής;). Ήταν και ρώσικο, ποτέ δεν κατάφερα να διαβάσω ολοκληρωμένα κάτι ρώσικο. :(
