This is the highly-anticipated full version of the Analysis of Book 5. It is basically the same as the first guide but covering only "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix." However, the format has changed somewhat -- only to minimize the amount of summarization of the Rowling books. Many people use our guides to not only refresh their memory as to what they should be looking for in the way of clues when they read Book 6, but they also have questions about what happened in Book 5. They look at not only the insights to the clues, but the insights into the motivations of the characters, and the magical world, which functions differently than our own. Therefore, we are responding to the requests from readers by publishing in advance. We also are going on record with our theories so that the fans can have fun debating our guesses -- whether we were right or wrong.
Much like the first guidebook that canvased the first 4 Harry Potter books, this book was very thorough in its analysis of events. It was fun to see what aspects of the book were predicted to be big plot points or what might develop from this book to the bigger picture of book 7. I loved the thought-provoking pieces on certain plot elements that even made me, a long time HP fan and re-reader, stop and think on hidden pieces. However, this guide isn't as well organized as the previous one. It misses major chunks of the story in each chapter, glossing over events that were central to the plot of this book to focus on minor details that actually didn't contribute anything. I liked the first guide being so specific and really well thought out. After the letter in the hints guide, this one really felt like a rush job to get it out while there was hype. I mean, I'm reading it all these years later so the hype never died, Galadriel! You could have waited to really make this worthwhile. :/ It still was fun to read and helped me guide discussions with someone who's reading the books for the first time, but I wish the author had taken their time to fully develop their thoughts on some points.
