Can the bane of your existence also be the love of your life?
Chase Andrews. Just his name alone narrows my eyes and sets my teeth on edge.
Seeing him make partner would be the insult of the century. That job is mine and I intend to land it. But when the high profile case drops into our office, we’re pushed together to work on it. Winner take all.
Things take a turn when one late night, something ignites between us. Then it happens again…and again…and again.
Before I know it, I’m spending most nights at his house. Is our loathing turning into something else? It can’t be, because he doesn’t want the same things in life that I do. This is a recipe for disaster.
What happens when the thin line between hate and love becomes blurred?

Shayna Astor is a native New Yorker, currently residing upstate with her husband and two children. Getting all four seasons, her favorite are the cool, crisp days of fall.
When Shayna isn't writing, she can be found reading, spending time with her kids, or playing video games with her husband. Being an avid coffee drinker, she can almost always be found with a cup of coffee in her hands.
Chase and Liz are so perfect. The banter, the steam….oh the steam. And I won’t give the ending away, but I loved how it ended. Some authors rush it, and this was not at all. There were several “awwww” moments as well. This book definitely hit all my emotions.
What a wonderful clash of two stubborn, yet perfect-for-each other characters! I loved that they faced real, relatable life issues together, overcame their fears, and had plenty of chemistry. Definitely a good read if you are looking for something spicy that tugs at your heartstrings.
I had high hopes at the start, it started off good - typical enemies to lovers romance.
If you like smut on nearly every page this is the book for you!!!
I think that’s why I didn’t like it, I nearly DNF’d it half way through because the smut is literally every chapter but I wanted to carry on as I’d got so far I forced myself in hopes for more story. The only response either character has to a situation is sex. They hate each other? Sex. They do something nice? Sex. Dads died? Sex. I wanted more character/world building but it was just one huge porno which some people would probably like but it’s not for me!

If I could give this zero stars, I would. This was actually one of the worst books I’ve ever tried to read. I made it to page 247 before I gave up and I FOUGHT to make it that far into it. These characters were so unbearable. I couldn’t feel a connection with either of them. It is a basic enemies to lovers except I feel like in the only enemy here…
Chase is the most egotistical son of a bitch I’ve ever read about. How do you get yourself up after the father of the girl you’re fucking daily dies? Like come on… unrealistic. Not only do they have sex every 5 seconds but it is the most boring and repetitive scenes I’ve ever read.
Don’t get me started on Liz. Girl… are you dumb? You’re gonna sit there and cry and complain that you haven’t seen your father in weeks before he passed away but not mention the fact that you were too busy getting in bed with some dude that you only know in a work setting EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. For MONTHS. She really pissed me off.
The entire thing was beyond unrealistic and I couldn’t stand it. Don’t waste your time on this. Seriously.

Oh wow, what a ride this book was. I love Chase and Liz, their banter, their denied love for each other, their supporting each other… It was an emotional rollercoaster with so high 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I wouldn’t recommend reading the book in public, because holy hell was it 🥵🥵🥵🥵 It might seem there were only smexy times and no story, but it’s quite the opposite. Because even during those times they learnt a lot. How to lean on someone, how it’s not a bad thing being in a relationship and things like that. Also we get to see them dealing with grief, loss and illness. And I so wish I had someone like Chase in my life 🥹🥹🥹 It could get a bit annoying sometimes how much in denial Liz was and how basically her best friend stopped existing for her when she got Chase. But I guess it can be understandable when you are in a new relationship. I would give everything to get Chase POV though. At least in the most important moments. Because I have a feeling he was head over heels with Liz long before their arrangement and he started this to get the girl. Even though I was a bit disappointed not getting into Chase’s head I enjoyed this book very much and I’m looking forward to reading more from Shayna.
This was actually far better than I expected, especially with the amount of R rated scenes. There was growth in the progression of their relationship, and the enemies to lovers felt realistic where they remained hesitant about growing feeling for each other. Major spoiler ahead - it lost me when the dad died. We don’t even learn how he died for chapters. And it kind of made sense that she would look for sex as a distraction but the way it was written made me cringe. One second Chase was trying to tell her that she shouldn’t just use his body as a distraction and literally within paragraphs he’s trying to get her through a funeral check list by bribing her with sex. Ummm … what? … and that’s basically a last large chunk of the book so just left it on a weird vibe.

This story certainly grew on me. To start with I thought it was just going to be sex scene after sex scene with not much substance, but I was wrong. There was a great story and Chase and Liz were just a great couple. They both convinced each other they hated each other, but were good for some daily physical action. But as time went on, there were little snippets of behaviour peak through that has Liz questioning - what are we? and isn't this boyfriend/girlfriend behaviour? Chase doesn't want to label it. They go through some tough issues where they support each other but in the end do they want the same thing? Plenty of steam with a real, relatable story. Great read.
Loved how real and raw Liz, her relationship with Chase, and her struggles are. A major positive to Shayna’s writing is she makes her characters truly relatable! Liz and Chase were a great adventure from hate to love and all of the in betweens. My only wish would be dual POV because there are many scenes I wish I could’ve known Chase’s thoughts on or more about, especially his walk with John!
I loved Chase and Liz!!! Chase with his alpha hole self! The banter and love hate relationship they had and the steam holy crap the steam it’s everywhere!!! It’s a roller coaster for sure the sadness, the loss, the love, the lust and finally the putting back together.
I absolutely adore Shayna and her writing and when you present me with enemies to lovers and tell me there's gratuitous hate sex... I might just jump at it.
Elizabeth and Chase can't stand each other on the best of days, but when the two are assigned to work together on the same case, one late night in the office is all it takes for them to give in to the growing tension between them. And then they simply can't stop giving in.
Elizabeth wants commitment, marriage, and family. These are all things that Chase seems to be allergic to. Yet, he can't seem to get enough of Elizabeth.
Their dynamic changes from "hate", to tolerance, to like... and when tragedy strikes?
Shayna always paints loss into her stories with such beauty. You can always feel the sadness with such intensity.
This was so good! How their relationship grew was sooo fun watching my god the banter and the flirting was so steamy and everyone wants this in a relationship the fun , loving , sexy connection. Being stuck working with someone you don’t want too at all was really funny. I loved this book and would totally recommend :-)
I don’t know how she did it, but Shayna Astor took one of my least favorite tropes and made me fall absolutely in love with this book.
Elizabeth and Chase, who both work at the same law firm, are gunning for the same promotion, and they despise each other. When they get pulled together to work a high-profile case, neither of them is convinced they can survive the close proximity with their sworn enemy, but after one late night at the office, sparks fly and suddenly all bets are off.
I’m not the biggest fan of enemies-to-lovers; actually, it’s one of my least favorite tropes, but Shayna nailed it. I don't know why I’m so surprised because I love everything she writes.
The banter between Chase and Elizabeth is so fun! It's done in such a believable and charming way that I didn’t cringe at all; I found myself smiling like an idiot. And, once they lose their clothes, it’s spice, spice, spice—not even 10% into the book. No complaints here!
Elizabeth is strong-willed and confident without being hardened or cold. Chase is bossy and dominating, but mixed with just the right amount of sweetness and tenderness to make him absolutely delicious.
Although the spice in this book starts very early and the story is relatively low-angst, it isn’t without its emotion. Both characters have to navigate very difficult real-life events, and you feel for them separately as much as you do as a couple. Such a charming, lovable, and spicy story that holds enough emotion to keep you invested.
I am apparently on an enemies to lovers kick, and after Love Me Not by Shayna Astor, I’m honestly not mad about it! This is a story about two wonderfully stubbourn lawyers who constantly bump heads. There’s banter, there’s tension, there’s chemistry. We see them deal with some really tough real life issues ( possible trigger warnings for sickness, Alzheimers, death of a parent) but all were handled honestly and thoughtfully. The spice…Oh the spice! The heat comes quick, and comes often 😏. There were times that I was worried that the spice was going to take over the story, but the scenes were laced with emotion, communication, and learning about each other. What I thought would take over the plot, actually helped push the story along. The amount of spice and actual heat created by those scenes was absolutely 🔥. Alpha males, dirty talk, and angry schmex 🥵🥵🥵 just all around stellar scenes. Even with all the spice, the book felt balanced with emotion and character growth. If I had one criticism, it would be that I would have loved if it was dual POV. I would have really liked to have seen Chase’s take on their relationship. All in all, if you are looking for a book with a good story, great writing, real emotion that tugs on your hearstrings with amazingly hot spice, pick it up, check it out, and give this book some love! Overall⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice🌶🌶🌶🌶 You can also find my review on my Instagram https://instagram.com/thirstyreaderbo...
Shayna Astor does it again! I will be the first to admit that a good enemies to lovers ranks pretty high on my favorite tropes. One thing that seems to be a common trend in enemies to lovers, though, is bullying in some form. It was really refreshing to read one that does not include relentless bullying. Chase has become my new favorite MC from Shayna. The banter between the characters is perfection, their snarky and witty comebacks are everything.
This book has also upped the spice factor! While all of Shayna's books include the heat, this one starts early and never stops.
The only thing I wish I had was a glimpse in to Chase's brain, but Shayna wrote it so well that you can pretty much know what he's thinking and feeling. I'd love a bonus chapter of his conversation with Liz's dad, though!
All in all, another five star read from Shayna and I can't wait to see what's next!
Shayna has written another incredible book! This is an enemies to lovers romance, and office romance.
I loved the enemies to lovers trope in this book. Chase and Liv absolutely can't stand each other, get forced to work a huge case together and both going for a promotion. Woah!
Both characters office banter was great. Their hook ups were 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. I loved the gradual change in emotions and development in both characters as their story progressed. Chase was the absolute best "friend" to Liv through some very rough times. I thought that was so good to see in the story line.
Really great book, it releases in just a few days and I would highly reccommemd if you like the above tropes, and lots of spice!
If you've ever hated someone, but also wanted to climb them like a tree then you will understand this book. I think this may be one of the most realistic enemies to lovers trope books I've read. I feel like it is a very accurate representation on how two individuals can go from seriously hating each other to slowly realizing they don't.
I love the banter in this book. The spice and the tension was off the charts! And the way the characters ended up just being there for each other was incredibly heart-warming and beautiful.
Check your triggers, there are some possibly difficult topics. But I didn't find anything in this book to be particularly traumatic for myself. Sad, yes. But also beautiful.
New author for me & I won't be reading anymore of her. Finally finished the book. Long & boring enemies to lovers. Liz & Chase have worked together for years as lawyers. She hates him even though she doesn't know him (just what she sees at work). Thrown together for a case they hate f*ck which turns into a weekly/nightly thing. She doesn't want feeling involved but he keeps dropping hints that he's paid attention to her for years. Between Liz "chewing, worrying, & nibbling her lip" along with Chase continuously "quirking, arching, & lifting" his brow it was just too much. All they do is f*ck & her "swirls her clit" every time to make for the same boring sex scenes. Lack of communication leads to a third act break up. Glad this book is over
Excuse me but why did this make me want my own office romance?! Even though I work remotely so not sure how that would work LOL. I will say as much as they were complete enemies at work, it definitely played a huge part in the off the charts chemistry! Pretty sure they spent more time banging it out than actually working! I mean what a way to survive the work day. The way Chase took care of Liz though when she suffered such a traumatic loss literally had me swooning that much harder. Although my heart shattered with the way things took a dramatic turn and I felt like I was holding my breath to see what was going to happen. I just wish it wasn’t a standalone because I feel like I could read an entire series of these two forever.
Oh my goodnessssss! I love Liz and Chase so much. I thought the book would take a little while to get to the smutty stuff but nope, it was a bang from the very beginning! The world building was amazing and the character growth was so perfect. I love that they complimented each other so well and that Chase was able to help her through some tough times. Chase didn't care what anyone else thought, he was instantly supporting her and didn't hide the relationship that had developed. The ending was so perfect, I couldn't have asked for more. I would love to see more of Lydia, she was awesome and I'd like to get to know her more.
I really loved the characters Liz and Chase. I’m so glad I got to read this amazing book. It was a roller coaster, emotionally lol 😂 but I do recommend reading this. I’m not gonna post any spoilers even though I want to speak about it so much, but definitely read this book because it won’t disappoint. Chase is kinda of like my husband we support each other so much and are in love with each other so much it’s kind of like our relationship they have a little bit but not like them ❤️ But we definitely don’t cut out anyone from our lives 😊 is there gonna be more to come from this book? Definitely buying more books from Shayna for sure ❤️
Chase and Elizabeth are both lawyers in the same firm who hate each other. They are forced to take a big case together and one of them will be selected for promotion to partner from it. Quickly things escalate between them and the line between love and hate blurs. They are spending all their time together but Chase is resistant to put a label on the relationship. Elizabeth’s dad passes away and she is distraught but Chase is there to support her. The decision on partner comes down and Elizabeth decides to quit. She lays everything on line but Chase doesn’t respond so she has the answer she needs. Will he get his head right or will they be able to overcome the struggle?
“Love Me Not” was my first time reading something by Shayna Astor, and I have to say that I definitely enjoyed it! Chase and Elizabeth’s enemies to lovers workplace romance was amazing, and I loved both characters for different reasons. Even though they started off as enemies, their relationship truly grows and develops over the course of the novel into something more. Chase is a little jaded, but I loved how protective he was of Elizabeth, and how much he obviously cared for her. And Elizabeth!!! I thought she was really sweet and had a sort of quiet strength. “Love Me Not” is perfect for fans of the enemies to lovers and/or workplace trope!!!
I liked this book but I gave it 3 stars because the transitions were really quick. One minute they hated each other, without buildup, not even a hint of interest in each other, and out of nowhere they’re hooking up. It confused me. I had to go back and see if I missed something. Same thing in the end when they have a falling out and he shows up again. I think this could have been solved by including Chase’s point of view, which was another reason I couldn’t give it more than a three. The storyline was well written, though, and I enjoyed how much spice was included without taking away from the plot.
Enemies to lovers!? Oh yes baby ! Elizabeth is a hardworking lawyer who is dealing with a lot in her personal life. She is ready to get that promotion and become partner except there is one person who standing in her way. Chase is your alpha male who doesn’t take anyone’s crap. He works hard. Plays hard. He isn’t a fan of Elizabeth, but has no choice but to work with her when they are both given a case. Late nights in the office become too much & these two cause some fire. Ladies get yourself some water because it’s about to get hot.
This book… words are failing me right now. The journey you take. A strong independent woman doing her own thing without the help of a man. And in the end allowing her feminine energy out and being taken care of by the perfect man for her. This is the journey I’m here for! I absolutely loved it. The emotions you feel along the journey are real and raw. The heartbreak is real as well. This was also the first book I read by Shayna and I was not disappointed. I’m definitely excited to read more!

Workplace romance • enemies to lovers • parent loss
Chase and Elizabeth are forced to work together on a high profile divorce case by their big boss. Problem is they absolutely despise each other and now they are being pushed together for long hours and even longer days. Can the overcome their hatred for each other for the sake of their client? Will they fall head over heels for each other? You’ll have to read to find out what happens to them.
Lots of substance throughout and of course there is spice because Shayna wouldn’t leave us on edge 😁
I finished it because I wanted to know what happens, so that's always a plus. I got side tracked, though, on the timeline. I just couldn't get past it. She was twenty-eight, working for the firm five years. Okay... a stretch but nothing I couldn't forgive, but then she mentions having another job previously as a lawyer beforehand and coming up against MMC and now it's out of the realm of possibilities unless she was a genius IQ and graduated early. To me, the ending was just off. Both characters seem to do a 180.
Enemies to lovers? Yes. Forced to work together? Yes. Hot office sexy time? Ohhhh yes.
I just skated through this book. The rivalry and attraction between the FMC and MMC set the story up so well, I was page flipping the entire time. The transition from enemies to reluctant partners on a case to sexy time friends to more, had a slow burn satisfying feel, but the spice started early and never let up.
When divorce lawyer Elizabeth is forced to work on a high profile case with irritating, cocky rival Chase, neither one wants to get too involved with the other. However, they quickly succumb to their attraction and soon their late nights working evolve into overnight stays and weekends together. But as jaded divorce lawyers, both are reluctant to call their arrangement anything more than a temporary fling. That is until they find themselves becoming more and more emotionally entwined.
So much humor and emotional intimacy in this novel. I was laughing at so many things that Elizabeth said or thought all through her journey with Chase. The story did not lack spice, with a sexy scene in nearly every chapter, each scene furthering the relationship and showing the FMC and MMC falling deeper and deeper into the relationship they both swore would never happen. So much fun and SO GOOD!
I really liked this. At one point I told myself ‘one more chapter’ and then I just stayed up another hour.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, when they’re already having sex 3 chapters in, but I devoured this book. Chase is a dream.
Heads up, half of this book is sex scenes. (Not a complaint, I loved them all.)
As someone who hates any pregnancy related tropes, this book was a breath of fresh air. Despite the nonstop unprotected sex (seriously, the word condom never appears in this book) there are no scares or babies.
Oh! And the sad parts are sad. It made me cry.
