This murder happened just a few miles down the road from where we lived, so this was a must read for me. Oddly, I don't remember it from then, even though it would have been a huge story in that area. I do have friends who knew Marlys and they remember the murder. This is a tragic story told from the view of the family mostly across the 20year search for the killer. This is not a book about the crime so much as about how it affected the family. It's a heartbreaker and is one of the few books to ever make me tear up. I loved it.

This is a true story about a teenager in Minnesota who was murdered. Twenty years later her killer is finally convicted. It was interesting for me, living in Minnesota, to read of familiar places and entities (law enforcement agencies, cities, etc). It's a horrible event, and I feel awful for the family... But the story, having been told on the TV show "48 Hours," reads much like a "48 Hours" kind of crime story where the story is dragged out and it's too long between events. Not the best writing I've ever read, but mildly interesting because of its setting.

Local author. Member of our church. This is the better of his and his wife's books. It is amazing what they went through. It is their story of Fran's daughter's murder..

I read this because Angie helped get this guy locked up -- Joe Ture, serial killer in the 70s-80s. The book is written by someone close to one of the murdered girls and I am very glad I read it.
