One of the reasons I love reading Megan Hart is that she gives me something very different every time. This was so unique but combined with good writing and a strong plot.

Cover & Title - 5 out of 5.

I loved this short story it was super hot. I was pretty unsure how the story would go but i certainly wasn't disappointed. The great thing is that the book felt complete, sometimes when i read a shorty i am left wanting more. Not this time, i am totally satisfied. I really liked the concept of the book and it was very well written. I have read another book by this author, Dirty, which i also loved. I am going to read more by her in the future & and would recommend both of the books i have read by her.

Hot and sexy short story.
Melissa and Matt need money: She needs it to survive a few months and he needs it for spring-break with his frat buddies. They come across a great deal: $1000 to participate in a psych experiment, no more details offered. Soon they find out it's a week-long experiment to determine how long it would take for two strangers to become intimate after spending time together under certain conditions and the appropriate scenario.
Will they like each other? Will they have chemistry? What will happen at the end of that week?
Yummy read!

3.5 ***

Matt and Melissa are students who need money fast. The psychology dept. is offering $1000 for subjects in an intimacy experiment. The subjects are matched then left alone. The first night they have to hold hands, the second night they hug, the third they kiss, etc. They don't have to have sex but of course they think about it constantly. I liked the characters and the idea of the students being part of a study were interesting.

Wow! This book is the definition of short but effective. And effective it was!

I wasn't expecting much from this book and was very surprised by how good it was. The subject is original and the author managed to make it even better with her characters and the chemistry she created between them.

"She smiled. He wanted to lick that smile. He wanted to get on his knees in front of her for that smile. He wanted to worship every last bit of her bare skin because if it. Fuck, he was a mess."

Matt and Melissa are great characters. We don't know much about them except that they're broke and need quick money so they apply to be part of a study on behavior and sexual chemistry. They are complete strangers and so we easily picture how awkward what they have to do can be, especially since they are not really each other's type.

"This was not Matt the frat boy, bent on getting up to trouble in Cancun. This Matt seemed more vulnerable than that, and what could she say? Melissa was a sucker for vulnerable."

I really liked their interactions and how they responded to each other. I also very much liked the fact that they needed more than one try to get things right. Their first kiss for instance is very sweet because how bad it is. It made me think of a video I've seen recently where strangers were asked to kiss. And just like in the book, it was very sweet and you were able to see how vulnerable it made them to kiss strangers even though it was sort of exciting. That pretty much how I felt reading this book.

"Knowing this could only go so far was frustrating and yet terrifically erotic..."

Their "relationship" was sweet but also very erotic. It was very hot but not in a forced way. Everything that happens in the book and between the two of them feels natural. It's a slow building, something that grows and evolves gradually and naturally.

I'm just sad it wasn't longer. I wanted more of this book and I read it very quickly.

It was very good and I highly recommend this book!

The subject of this short story intrigued me (the cover is very misleading) since it has to do with an experiment about how long it would take for two strangers to become intimate in certain circumstances.

The two main characters enroll in an experiment for which they have to spend some hours alone together in a room, advancing the amount of physical contact every day. It's interesting that while they did not consider each other their "ideal", after the hours they spend being close to one another they developed intense chemistry.

Interesting, although it didn't really delve into the subject very much and we don't get to read the report in the end - something I would have liked.

This is a short story. Two broke college students participate in an experiment for a thousand bucks, a sexual experiment that is. I expected a tension and connection between those two, any strong emotion but they're not there. I didn't feel anything. It's still an enjoyable read though.

I would say 4 stars in the sexy books rating ;) Sexy and cute. And a quick subway read! (but only if you're surrounded with people who don't speak English:P)

I first read this short story when i was twelve. I learned about sex when i was five so it wasn't a surprise. You can imagine a twelve year old's delight reading this. I am now 19 and have finished it for a second time. Several things have changed in my life. I discovered that i was gay, i have had sexual experiences etc. This short story/novella was really good. It wasn't forced and the sexual tension built evenly. The characters didn't meet for the first time and were like i want you so much instead it progressed. There are some problems but overall it was definitely worth the read.

I wanted more as I really liked the characters but this was a well crafted short story romance, complete in under 50 pages.

Cute story

I enjoyed reading this book. It wasn’t what I was really expecting, but that was not a negative thing. It was a very good story.

This short story made me feel giddy then hot and bothered the next second.
The only reason it got 4 stars was because the ending was way too abrupt for me.

Have you ever wondered what goes on at those psych experiment places? Well for Melissa and Matt it all came down to money. She needed money to pay her bills. He needed money to go with his buddies to Cancun. And $1,000 offered to participate in a week-long psych experiment was too hard to resist. And all they had to do was spend time with someone chosen by the psychologists to see analyze the reasons why you would have sex with a person.

They were first interviewed and asked for their perfect partner requests. Of course they got the complete opposite!! They are not each others first pick in looks and personality. But first impressions aren't always the best way to judge a person are they? As they spend more time together and follow the simple requests and instructions of the experiment they realize that they like each other a lot more than they expected.

But it will all come down to the end of that week. What will they decide? Are they going to have sex or not?

I really enjoyed this story. The characters seemed very real, and likeable, and even though this was a pretty quick read, it was definitely entertaining.

My favorite quote:
"We just want to find out how long it takes you guys to decide if you'd like to bang like a screen door in a hurricane."

hmmmmm... Ada and Randy - psych students working on their thesis, and offering $1,000 to clarify attraction... Melissa and Matt - two grad students in need of money...

committment - 5 days - 4 hours each evening - lab has a bed, couch, table, lamp, bathroom... each morning they have to fill out a questionaire and turn it in...1st day, hand holding; 2nd day, hugging; 3rd day, kissing; 4th day, petting; 5th day, sex

and as they become more comfortable with one another, though neither was what they thought as their perfect attraction, the attraction grows - to appreciation of more than just physical attributes, but a deep appreciation for the physical attributes... and disappointed when there is a sign on the 5th day saying experiment completed - but they, of course, finish it in their own room...

and it ends in Cancun (what Matt wanted the money for)... with the right woman... ahhhhh

This was a great little read; I really probably shouldn't even put it under smut just because it has a little all-the-way heat in the end. This was a quick and short story about a guy and a girl who are partnered up by a lab experiment to find out about physical attraction. The two MCs, though not each other's typical type - so they think - have to spend four hours together each evening, in a room, each evening performing a different experiment such as holding hands, hugging, petting. I was pleased with the happily ever after ending. ;-)

I was suppose to give it a 5 stars, haha but the book cover is just too much >.< errr and it was such a short read too.
In the first place, I never thought that I would read this but I'm happy I did, I just like the idea that they weren't each others type or something like they were complete opposite to what they thought would be their ideal type. But they ended up liking each other anyway, you could never tell who you would fall in love with, and thanks to that indecent psychology experiment and not to mention their strong need for money. Haha

Sweet, sexy little story. The buildup is great and I love how they each quickly get past that the other wasn't what they'd "asked" for on their questionaires. I think that the only flaw w/ this short story/novella is that there is no mention at the end about how the experiment was actually set up differently than what they'd been told. It would have made a nice twist to the story and is my only criticism. Often short stories or novellas are lacking in a various areas--I think they must be difficult to write, but this one was great!

This is my first book by the author and I am glad this made a good respite after reading a heavily themed books for the past week. The premise and their meet cute is interesting, though I think it could stir some serious discussion to the people in the academia. I like the fact that their chemistry developed organically and I was anticipating how they would dive in to it. But sadly, this ended too fast. I feel this had a potential to be a full blown novel. Regardless, this won't definitely be my last book from the author.

For a $1,000 psych experiment...
"I promise to judge you on Quality, not quantity"

Not bad for a quick read :) Have read FEW books, but this book..has a unique and impressive story plot. Since it was a quick read, I was not quite satisfied how the story ended, it focused more on physical attraction than love... still looking for mooooore romaance! But all in all I loooove the story!!
