With a degree in Mass Communications she became first a journalist, then a public relations officer in both the corporate and agency realm. But by far the most challenging has been using her writing skills to pen paranormal and steampunk novels in the turret office of her Seattle-area Victorian home. Last night I was in the mood for something Western-ish (hubby has been playing "Red Dead: Redemption" for days), so I downloaded The Hunter from my local library. I had seen before, but always shied away because it sounded a bit hokie (three brothers named after gun manufacturers?) & I haven't had the best experience with Steampunk. Last night, I thought I'd give it a go...I chose poorly.

Theresa Meyers is obviously a fan of Supernatural, too bad I am too (or was until this season, but that's neither here nor there). Colt is the Dean Winchester of this novel (oh hey, look whose last name is a gun manufacturer!). He's our over zealous demon hunter: he shoots before he thinks, loves him some saloon girl booty almost as much as whisky. Colt idealizes his Hunter father, while his brother Winn has eshewed the Hunter lifestyle altogether. The gateway between Hell & reality has opened, allowing increasing numbers of supernatural beings to pour through. Colt is using his mother's diary to track down a legendary book his father has hidden, which will give instructions on how to close said Hell gate.

I tried so hard to stomach what reads as Supernatural fan-fiction, I really did. But when Colt calls up succubus Lilly, in chapter 3, the encounter was all flawless porcelain skin, pink tongues, & nipples. That's when I clicked "Return to library & delete." Ms. Meyers is trying to write a paranormal romance novel through the eyes of a man, & it's all yearnings, oggling, & waking wet dreams. I mean, Colt has a hard enough time focusing on non-sex-related tasks, but you pair him with a succubus & the poor guy doesn't have a chance.

If you're looking for a steampunk urban fantasy adventure, pass over The Hunter & keep looking. If you've never watched Supernatural (or can't get enough of it) & like your novels full of nipples, check this book out.

With his brothers - Winchester and Remington - out of the family demon hunting business, Colt's job just keeps on getting busier, until he finally decides that it is time to track down the legendary book on Hunter lore which holds the 'key' to locking the gate to the demon realm once and for all. The only catch is that the book is in three pieces, and that it takes a demon to get to the piece of the book that Colt's father hid away.

So first step? Summon a demon. But when he does, Colt ends up not with a horned and hooved abomination, but a devastatingly beautiful succubus named Lilly instead. Colt strikes a bargain for Lilly's help and seals the deal with a kiss, but working with the enticing Lilly is complicated and that's even without taking into account that Colt doesn't know that Lilly has her own agenda - and time will tell whether Lilly decides to take a chance that Colt can help her regain her lost humanity or whether she fulfills her mission and takes the piece of the book - and Colt's soul too - back to her master in hell.

The Hunter, Theresa Meyers The Legend Chronicles series starter, is promising mix - steampunk, the Old West, paranormal, and romance. I liked The Hunter, but I really wanted to love it. Great inventions, airships and Colts mechanical horse, Tempus, work to give it that steampunk feel. And early on there are flashes of what could have kicked the story up that notch to 'I love it' in some action sequences where Lilly and Colt are working together and fighting their way at the edge of hell to Colt's target, and in Colt's interactions with one of his Brothers, I would have liked to have seen just a bit more of that dynamic too.

My nits with the story were that in the first half Colt and Lilly feel thin characterwise - which is wierd and I can't put my finger on exactly why I felt that way, since there is a decent amount of backstory for the pair. It might be that there was a bit of 'telling' versus 'showing', like where Colt tells us he's a charming ladies man.

I also had a nit with Lilly. I may have missed something but Lilly, as a succubus who had been good at her job of stealing men's souls and who was a con artist in her human days felt inconsistent to me. Lilly starts out being fairly saucy and capable and she has demon powers that she uses in the beginning of the story, but then for some reason she becomes very vulnerable, concerned about being demure, and damsel in distress-y as the story goes on. If this had felt that this was intentional - perhaps a ploy to get Colt feeling protective in order to win his trust and then changed once she decided that she was falling for Colt - I'd have been happier.

But I have to say that the story did pick up in the last third with some Indiana Jones type action, and also I starting 'feeling' Colt and Lilly, and their relationship finally seemed to gel. So with that and the decent presence of steampunk elements, I did end up liking The Hunter, and I think that most of my nits might have been due to typical first book in a series kinks, so I still have high hopes for both of the brothers books - and we've already met the women (a vampire and a shapeshifter) that are going to 'help' them on the quests for the other two pieces of the 'book'. Winchester's The Slayer is up next in April 2012, with Remington's The Chosen out in December 2012.

Basic Plot: Colt Jackson is a Hunter trying to save the world from the demon hordes, but he has to summon a demon to do it. The succubus Lilly wants to be human again, and believes Colt is one of the Chosen who might be able to help her out.

ROMANCE ALERT!

The book had a cool cover, a decent blurb on the back, and I wanted to give steam punk a go... *sigh*

The concept was interesting: 3 brothers in a steampunk Western who are demon hunters. Ok, pretty cool. Their names are Colt, Winchester, and Remington. I choose to find this amusing instead of cheesy. Good so far. The youngest brother and protagonist is a clear character from his initial description, and I like him. Lilly the succubus is a character, too, with a backstory that is interesting. The plot is pretty basic: get the mcguffin and reunite with brothers to battle baddies and prevent Apocalypse (I've seen Buffy, this is not a new plot line for me). This doesn't bother me either, there are very few new ideas under the sun, it's all about how the story is told. There was some cool steampunky gadgetry, and the mad scientist character was suitably mad and interesting.

Where the story FAILS: Insta-love. These characters, even the supposedly jaded con-artist succubus, instantly feel attracted to each other and can barely control themselves around each other. The demon hunter and the succubus. ARGH. They then proceed to spend the next 200 PAGES whining about how they can't trust each other (then trusting each other) and stealing kisses and teasing each other the whole time. GAHHH!!! Then, when the author finally gets to their sex scene, she set it up then skipped it. BLARGH! She describes every glimpse of silky thigh, nipple tighten, and uncomfortable erection up to that point, but then she leaves the reader high and dry. Generally speaking, I could care less if there were sex in a book or not, but with all these descriptions, I anticipated a little guilty pleasure to come from this. THEN SHE YADDA-YADDAED OVER THE BEST PART. The one thing that could have redeemed my frustration from all of the whining from the characters got skipped. I was left simply wanting to slap the author across the face.

Now I'm just going to be bitchy and nitpicky due to failed expectations. The characters are constantly changing their minds about each other. One second, I can't trust the other person! The next, why doesn't the other person just say how much he/she loves me? AND BACK AND FORTH. It leaves the reader confused, as the characters themselves have no idea what they are feeling because it changes every two pages.Lilly should have been a BA in her own right, but she wilts and wants Colt to protect her and cherish her.

The book is set up as the first book in a trilogy, with one book about each of the brothers. The whole thing is set up in this book, including the love interests. I have to assume the final big battle will happen in the third book. All told, I may read the next book because the steampunky stuff interests me and sometimes authors get better... But I checked the author's bio and she also writes harlequin romances, so I just don't know if stomaching another romance with stupid characters who lose all coolness and sense of self once introduced to the love interest is something I can do just to get a few cool steampunk moments.

A dash of the old west, a sprinkle of steampunk and dollop of the supernatural makes for a unique new paranormal romance with The Hunter.

Colt Jackson is a Hunter born and bred; though his parents tried to protect him from the family legacy, when a demon attacks him as a boy his father trains him to take down any and all of the Darkin. Now the only active Hunter of the Jackon’s, Colt is searching for the missing pieces of an ancient book, one he knows his Pa had. The Darkin are growing in numbers and the only way to keep them from escaping the gate is putting all three pieces together and closing the gate for good. But he needs a demon to help him and when he goes to summon one what he gets is a seductive succubus who wants to be human and who will test all the rules he has as a Hunter.

The Hunter was a good Indian Jones-isque adventure full of action and danger with a slow-building romance between Colt and Lily that felt real and believable. I loved how author Theresa Meyers mixed steam punk elements such as weapons and gadgetry into the paranormal while giving it an old western setting; all of these little facets where perfectly blended and balanced with each other.

The Jackson brothers (Winchester, Remington and Colt), along with their inventor friend Marley Turlock, were incredibly intriguing and well-rounded characters that came to life on the pages. Colt is a sexy cowboy Hunter, named after the gun, with a Stetson, boots, duster and all. His romance with Lily, the Succubus, builds unhurriedly with a good amount of sensual tension. Colt experiences some internal struggle over the fact that he is a Hunter and Lily is a demon and that just doesn’t mix, along with trust issues with her but he eventually comes to see the woman beneath the succubus in between treasure hunting and fighting off rock demons, hellhounds, mechanical scorpions and a sadistic archdemon named Rathe. Lily’s character on the other hand, was a bit of a contradiction. One of my issues was she would play the sultry succubus on one page and then the next she was a demure miss trying to act the proper lady. It didn’t quite jive and I ended up unable to really connect with her. The world building though was superbly creative and well-detailed and I could easily place myself right on Tempus, the clockworks horse, riding through the dessert and cacti or even up the rugged mountain trails in search of a hidden mine.
However, this story moved slowly for me and took twice as long as normal for me to finish. I can’t put my finger on exactly what the problem was, maybe it was just a stressful week for me, because I did enjoy the book and look forward to the rest of the series, but I hope the next books have more speed to them. All in all, The Hunter was a good read and a great little dip into the world of steampunk if you’re new to this genre while it was still exciting to those who make forays into it often.

This is a great adventure which starts even before Colt summons Lilly. As the youngest child, his father tried to spare him the life of the Hunter, but a demon tried to kill him and they all realized he had to be on it.

From the moment he summons Lilly, neither will catch a break till almost the end of the book. It is a fast-paced story with very little sex (that was managed perfectly). They are a great team and I am not talking about romance. She is resourceful, smart and she realized right away that he is her best bet to become human again. The chemistry between these two is nicely done and the constant interruptions didn't annoy me at all since they moved the story forward. And there are a lot of those. Every time they get close to each other, something happens to stop them. Still, every single thing that does that makes this story a great adventure so you don't even notice they didn't get more.

The only thing that gets sorted out in this book is their romance. I don't think it is a spoiler to say they end up together (this for people who like to know if there is a happy ending). The rest of the story is in his brother's books.

I wasn't impressed with this book. It just seemed too much like Supernatural fan-fiction mixed with an Indiana Jones episode or two Honestly if you're interested in the TV show Supernatural, I'd recommend that you just watch the show and skip this series.

I liked Lilly but Colt Jackson felt flat and one dimensional. I don't think there was enough set-up in this book. The reader doesn't know WHY all supernatural beings are bad and need to be sent back to hell so IMHO a big part of the plot is missing. I actually looked twice to see if this book really was the first in the series as it seemed to me that it started in the middle and the beginning just never caught up.

I won't be continuing the series.

Una sucubo que se comporta de la manera más pudorosa, y la poca química que me han transmitido los protas le restan interés a unas cuantas aventuras tipo Indiana Jones bastante conseguidas.

Ok, so this book is a Western/Cowboy mixed with Supernatural (the TV Show) plus a pinch of Steampunk. You will either enjoy the cheesiness of it or consider it fanfiction of the show. I chose to enjoy it. Some of it was a little cringeworthy, especially Colt's thoughts on the Succubus Lilly. But overall it was a decent read. I will likely continue the series at some point.

My Rating: 3.5 stars: Liked it a lot - recommend (B+)

The Hunter is classified as a paranormal romance, steampunk western. With that said, let me translate: The story’s setting is a western - taking place during the late 1800’s on the planes of the wild west. The paranormal factor is strong and is the heart of the storyline. The steampunk attributes are more related to the props than the setting and way of life. Think Will Smith’s Wild Wild West with demons.

The story focuses on the youngest of the three Jackson brothers all raised to be Hunters - men and women that hunt down and kill the Darkin which torment the human world. Colt was told by his father long ago that someday the boys must collect and unite the three pieces of the mythical Book of Legend to prevent the coming of the creatures from Hell to end of the world. In his solitary journeys, Colt discovers a piece of the Book is hidden behind a door that only a demon can access.

Enter Miss Lilly. A human-turned-succubus after making a deal with the evil demon lord, Rathe, to protect her sister, she makes a bargain with Colt to help him open the door. Although a Darkin, Lilly comes across more human than demon, and it makes me wonder how she survived the past 25 years as a succubus. At times I felt she was a bit too prim and proper to be a believable succubus. Also, I felt the use of her demon powers was not consistent throughout the book - sometimes flashing in an item to help them and at other times sitting back remaining “helpless.”

Together Colt and Lilly take on the challenge of finding the first section of the book. Both are instantly attracted to one another, but are cautious given their respective backgrounds and situations. Colt constantly questions if his growing need for Lilly is because of her demon powers, and Lilly doesn’t trust because of her father’s grifter ways.

At first I found their budding romance sweet. I adored that she refused to use her succubus powers, hoping to find out if Colt was really falling for her. I admired their baby steps forward and loved when they would give into a passionate kiss. However, after about three-quarters of reading this back and forth play, I grew a bit weary of the constant inner-monologue each had questioning his/her own feelings and the other’s motives. I felt that there was too much contemplation and not enough action.

The overall plot of reuniting the pieces of the Book is interesting and I like the mythology Ms. Meyers has fleshed out in The Hunter. The conclusion was adequate, but I was not completely satisfied with the actions Colt took to fulfill his promises to Lilly. Knowing that there are still two books in the series, I am okay that the details of her world aren’t rock solid or completely laid out in this first book - it leaves room to grow. However, I am a little disappointed that the steampunk factor wasn’t a bigger part of the story. Maybe it’s the engineer in me, but I wanted a larger integration of the devices and instruments - for the world to be reliant on the steampunk way of life.

All-in-all a good read and definitely worth picking up if you enjoy westerns and paranormal romances. I look forward to finding out where the story is headed and how the Jackson brothers will save the world. The next book, The Slayer, is due to release next April, and I will be looking for it in the stores.

The Hunter by Theresa Meyers. I was given the ARC of this book whilst I was at AAD this year, it was one of the ones shipped to me, so you can imagine they took a little longer to get to the UK, but get here they did and whilst I was packing for my holiday to Spain I made sure this went into my bag. A western steampunk circling round the lives of three brothers, I was intrigued! This was book 1 and following the story of the younger brother Colt.

I love westerns, I always have, I think I get it from my dad and sunday afternoons watching Bonanza (starts singing tune... Du du du dud ud...and pretends to be riding a horse) I love steampunk, so cowboys and steampunk... I was sold! I just hoped the book was as great as the premise.

DRUM ROLL!

And it was!! It is a GREAT BOOK!! I could have happily turned to the next instalment and carry on reading.

I do recommend that if you are looking for a new series or something just a little bit different the give this a try. The characters are captivating and garner our emotions and trust almost immediately. Colt starts this quite like your stereotypical cowboy but from the outset you know there is something different about him, an emerald surrounded by cut glass, his honesty and strength shine through. But he has never met anyone like Lilly.

Lilly I liked from the beginning. She was cute and funny and had purpose. someone with a hard life and a difficult background she made choices which allowed her to change her circumstances. I cheered her on from the beginning! Colt truly has never met anyone like her before and she makes a lasting impression, one which raises his blood pressure and makes him feel thongs he has never felt for a woman before. Her quick wit and refusal to just accept her gender role make her an engaging character who we want to see more of.

And yes they are hot for each other *nudge nudge wink wink* not in an I am always gonna try and get into your pants way, but in a sexy desperate and romantic way. So if you fancy a little spicy sausage stay tuned to this book.

The side characters are great too, particularly Colt's brothers and the scientific brains- Murphy. His brothers HEAs are possibly introduced in the book and you are eager to see where their journeys take them in their concurrent tales.

A great read, full of passion, romance, fantasy and steampunk. I give The Hunter 5 frillies out of 5 and I hope you all run out and buy a copy or someone takes pity on me and sends the next one. If you like cowboys, steampunk and supernatural, trust me you'll love it!

I don't like the steampunk genre at all-nothing about it appeals to me in the slightest. I don't like westerns or books set in old frontier type environments. I don't like heavy romance in my books. This book had all of these elements but the plot was good enough to look past what I don't like for the most part.

Winchester, Remington and Colt Jackson are brothers and hunters, who stop supernaturals attacking people. This book is telling Colt's story as each brother searches out one third of a sacred book that demons are trying to find. The demon sends a succubus to seduce Colt and get his part of the book when he finds it. There is an adventure Indiana Jones typre element to it as Colt and Lilly evade enemies and try to find the book, both not trusting the other.

And this is where the book fell down for me. I lost count of how many times we are told that one doesn't trust the other while the other assures they can be trusted. Colt is a walking hormone who lusts after Lilly on every page and the author keeps telling us how much he wannts her and how great her body is and yada yada yada. I felt as if the author was hitting me over the head with a stick to get that point across. Then there was the same with Lilly, whining to herself how she has a job to do yet wants to escape the demon, will Colt help her, can she trust him, how HOT he is...oh spare us please! It just went on and on. Even in the middle of a tense scene where they could die with one wrong move, their heads are full of lust and it kept making me snort in annoyance.

There were good things in this book. Lots of action, a cool mechanical horse, Indiana Jones style traps to evade to find the book and a nice dose of paranormal demons and monsters to defeat. I liked the plot, I loved their inventor friend who I can't remember the name of, and the hints of the other brothers and their stories were intriguing.

Had it not been for the book being romance heavy, I might have tried the other books in the series.

Colt is born in the 1800’s and comes from a family of demon hunters. His family tried to keep him out of the business and ignored him till he was in his middle teens when his brother suffered an injury that prevented him from demon hunting ever again. That is when Colt got his first real taste of what the family was doing. Colt always figures demons don’t take holidays therefore he doesn’t either. Colt is always ready to fight them.

Now, instead of fighting demons, Colt has to work with a demon because the book of Legend is to be brought together or humanity will perish. Colt wants to be ready for this fight; he even has his inventor, Marley Tarlock, making weapons but Marley’s inventions don’t always work as planned. Lilly will do anything to become human again, even make a deal with a demon hunter. But can she trade his soul for hers at the end?

The Hunter by Theresa Meyers, the first book in the The Legend Chronicles series, is a combination of western, paranormal and steampunk characters with inventions like a mechanical horse. I loved this steampunk novel and the paranormal twist kept me reading, while the crazy inventions kept me shaking my head. The romance between Lilly and Colt is sexy too. Colt always felt ignored by his family as a child and didn’t understand they were protecting him from demons. Once he becomes a hunter, he takes to it like a duck to water, and is very good at his job.

Lilly wants to be with her sister and become human again, but she’s trapped, Colt might be her salvation but if she helps him it could trap her as a demon forever. The fact she is willing to risk her humanity to help him says a lot about her, she is tough smart and beautiful. I would love to read more books in this series. Adventure, romance and inventions, plus a hotter than sin cowboy, you can’t ask for much more than that in a story!

When we agreed to host Theresa Meyers on her blog tour, I jumped at the chance to read The Hunter. I've been curious about steampunk but still hadn't read any books with the genre. But it's one that's been growing in popularity recently, so I decided to check it out. The Hunter was a fun introduction.

The Hunter is the first book in a series that follow the Jackson brothers. They are "The Chosen", paranormal hunters. They're destined to put together The Book, which was torn into three pieces and spread to different corners of the globe to keep out of the hands of those that would rather use the information held inside for evil rather than good. So Colt is the first brother to start the hunt for The Book. To get to the supposed hiding place, he needs the help of a demon and so he ends up summoning Lilly. Lilly wants to be free of the demon lifestyle and agrees to help Colt if he'll help regain her mortality.

The plot is interesting enough. But to make it steampunk, we have to throw in those interesting gadgets. So what started out as a Western with paranormal elements now also includes a mechanical horse, ray guns, and early blimps (at least that's how I pictured their flying machine).

I enjoyed the journey Lilly and Colt took me on and has lots of fun trying to imagine the gadgets Ms Meyers created. I'm looking forward to the following books in the series. After an interesting twist at the end of The Hunter, I can't wait to see how Ms Meyers is going to handle Winchester and Remington's (Colt's brothers) stories.

I have been a fan of Theresa Meyer's books since I read The Truth About Vampires so I knew when this book came on tour I knew I had to sign up. Even though I had never read any steampunk books and I had been wanting to for a long time. This was my opportunity and I jumped at the chance.

Not only did I find another genre that I could love but Theresa didn't disappoint with this book either. First I love the unique names of Colt, Remington and Winchester. Also loved the fact its set back in the 1800's even though like I said this is my first steampunk book so wrapping my head around the fact of the unique machinery back then was odd for me but I did enjoy it.

Colt and Lilly couldn't be a more of a mismatched pair but one that you could and find yourself rooting for. This book is filled with Demons, Vampires, Shapeshifters and much more. Let me just say if Remington's and Winchester's book is like this I can't wait til 2012. I will definitely be ordering those two.

So if you love steampunk mixed with romance as well as paranormal this book for you. If you haven't read anything by Theresa Meyers I strongly urge you give her a try too.

I am not a big fan of steampunk, but this one was free for a couple of days a while back and I thought the premise of the book sounded interesting.

I liked the brothers, liked their heritage of being a Hunter and what it stood for. I do wish that we would have gotten more of them together and even more with their father. I liked the relationship between Lilly and Colt. I liked that they both were willing to sacrifice for the other and loved the start of their relationship. The inventor guy was funny, his inventions seemed useful, but this is what is at odds for me. All the tech amid old time stuff, it just doesn’t match. I am interested into seeing how being Chosen comes into play and will likely check out the rest of the series.

Two words came to mind over and over as I read this book: aggressively mediocre. There is some great world-building and creativity going on here, but something in the storytelling left me a little cold. The author bio reveals that Theresa Meyers is a "Supernatural" fan, and it shows -- as in the TV series, there are some truly funny and very entertaining moments in a story that, on the whole, failed to really capture me. I did enjoy the light steampunk flavor, especially Tempus the clockwork horse and Balmora the code-cracking automaton, but all things considered, I don't think I'll be checking out the rest of the trilogy.

Well...It's not a steampunk book. It lacks any of the underlying elements of steampunk. However, this is a paranormal romance or weird west romance. A romance that has some steampunk business thrown in for funzies. (there's a raygun, a mechanical horse, and the inventor friend)

So, if you're looking for a weird west or steampunk adventure, this is not your book. If you're looking for a light-reading romance with strong paranormal and light steampunk elements, this is very much your book.

I was excited about reading The Hunter and actually read about half way through it. It's speculative fiction/steam punk with a western cowboy setting and that sounded great to me. Unfortunately, there's something lacking in this story -- it just didn't pull me in at all. There's a great premise, but there's something missing there. The characters, the atmosphere, the story, all of it fell flat, and after avoiding the book for almost two weeks, (and reading two other books in between) I finally gave up on it.

Short and sweet: I liked the steampunk aspects (especially the mechanical horse), the overall story, and the paranormal stuff. I hated the romance angles. While I'm not a fan of romances in general, I've read a number of Paranormal Romance books without complaint, but one more iteration of the whole "I'm attracted to her/him [choose one] but he/she is the antithesis of everything I believe in" would have had me throwing the book across the room with great velocity. I doubt that I'll spring for the next two books.

I couldn't finish this book. I can't say it was poorly written, rather that I couldn't find it interesting enough to keep reading it. Everything felt flat and once the author told me everything upfront what else was I supposed to be hooked by?

It had such an interesting blurb. But even good reviews note that something is missing (even if the readers can't put their fingers on what...)

See Melindeloo for a 4 star review or Hilcia for a 1 star opinion.

Hot cover. Sounded fun. The reality - yikes. I'm not quite sure how the author managed to take three hot brothers and make this story so damn boring.
It was a grind. The heroine was wooden, senseless and annoying. The story unfolded in fits and starts, wallowed around a bit, took off but never really got going and then ended - next in trilogy, brother step up. Um, no.
The stakes were high - so we are told - but as a reader I never invested, couldn't care and kept having to force myself to turn the page, skimming from about the fourth chapter on.

I couldn't finish this book. It wasn't that it was poorly written, rather that I couldn't find it interesting enough to keep reading it. Maybe someday I'll finish it, but it's not likely at this point. Not sure if it was the romance quality. Really, I was getting sick of the main character turning into an adolescent every time he even looked at his female companion. Sure, she's a succubus, but did we really need the constant updates on his erections and other hormones?

This is the first book in a new trilogy that follows the Jackson brothers, Colt, Remington, and Winchester. The brothers are hunters whose job it is to rid the world of the Darkin. This book is Colt's adventure. To help him track his father's part of the Hunters book he summons a demon--a succubus named Lilly. Can Colt find the book before the Darkin do, or before he succumbs to Lilly's charm?

Closer to a 3.5 really. I liked it but I didn't love it. I liked the steampunk parts, the paranormal aspect of it and the characters. I'm not a fan of westerns though so maybe that dampened the enjoyment of the story for me.
I did like it enough that I intend to read the other two books in the series, although not anytime soon.

I'm not much for romance novels, but this wasn't too bad. Plenty of adventure scenes, for people that don't like all the sappy love story stuff. As well as plenty of the sappy love story stuff for the romance fans.

While at the heart this book is a romance novel, fans of the fantasy, steam punk genres won't get bored with this novel.

I really loved this book, I am not the biggest steam punk girl but I really enjoyed this book. I also loved the dynamic between Colt & Lilly. I will continue to read this series because it is a lot of fun. It is a nonstop ride from start to finish that you will struggled to put down.

This was a really fun book and I can't wait to start book 2. :)

Meh, it was like an old Western-style Winchester Bros (Supernatural). Not wowed by it.
